Trudoor Tde-1000 Series Exit Device Instruction Manual

TDE-1000 Series Exit Device

Product Information:

The Trudoor TDE-1000 Series Exit Device is a Grade 1 exit device
designed for installation on single doors. It features a roller
strike for secure latching and is suitable for both metal and wood
doors. The exit device comes with various mounting brackets,
screws, and tools required for installation.

Product Usage Instructions:

Install Roller Strike:

  1. With the door in the closed position, mark the centerline of
the latchbolt on the door jamb.
  2. Place the roller strike on the door jamb, aligning the center
of the roller strike with the latchbolt centerline. Mark the jamb
and align the outside edge of the roller strike with the outside
    edge of the door jamb.
  3. Mark the center of the two adjustable slotted holes and drill
7/32 pilot holes. Tap the pilot holes with 1/4-20 threads and
install machine screws. Alternatively, drill 3/16 pilot holes for
installing self-tapping machine screws or wood screws in pilot
holes. Close the door to check if the latchbolt extends properly
and adjust the roller strike if necessary.
  4. With the roller strike in its final position, drill a 7/32
pilot hole for the center mounting hole. Tap the pilot hole with
1/4-20 threads and install a machine screw. Alternatively, drill a
3/16 pilot hole for installing a self-tapping machine screw or wood
    screw in the pilot hole.
  5. Note: Install the strike shim unless the exit device head cover
rubs against the roller strike. In that case, remove the strike
    shim to gain additional clearance.

Operation Test:

After installation is complete, press down the actuating bar to
ensure that the door opens and closes/latches correctly. Make any
necessary adjustments.

Locking and Unlocking:

To unlock, hold the actuating bar down and turn the dogging
device clockwise with the dogging wrench.

To lock, hold the actuating bar down and turn the dogging device
counterclockwise with the dogging wrench.

Door Backset Adjustment:

If the door has a backset of less than 36 inches, remove the end
cover and cut section A to the desired length.

A stock door backset of 2 3/4 can be used, but it will decrease
the backset by 3/16. This can be offset by not using the 1/8 strike
shim to gain 1/8 extra clearance. This will bring the backset
within 1/16, which is within acceptable tolerances to operate
correctly.

G INSTALL ROLLER STRIKE
1.With the door in the closed position, mark the centerline of latchbolt on door jamb.
2.Place roller strike on door jamb. Align center of roller strike with the latchbolt centerline. Mark on the jamb. Then align the outside edge of the roller strike with the outside edge of the door jamb.

3.Mark the center of the 2 adjustable slotted holes and drill 7/32″ pilot holes. Tap pilot holes with 1/4″-20 threads and install machine screws. Or, drill 3/16″ pilot holes for installing self tapping machine screws or wood screws in pilot holes. Close door to check if latchbolt extends properly. Adjust roller strike if necessary.
4.With roller strike in final position, drill a 7/32″ pilot hole for the center mounting hole, tap pilot hole with 1/4″-20 threads and install machine screw. Or, drill 3/16″ pilot hole for installing self tapping machine screw or wood screw in pilot hole.
