- Unplug machine
- Remove and empty dirt cup
- Remove pre-motor filter, turn vacuum on and feel for suction at motor duct
- If no suction, visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or contact us
- Disconnect filter cup from bottom of dirt cup
- Remove the Inner/Outer Circular filter from the Filter cup
- Remove the small mesh circle filter (found at motor duct below dirt cup)
- The primary separator can be removed by twisting to the left
- Filters and separator can be hand washed in warm water with mild dish soap
- Allow to completely air dry (24 – 48 hours) before returning to machine
- Connect filter cup back onto dirt cup
- Lock dirt cup in place making sure there are no gaps between dirt cup and upper tank
- If not locked properly the seal will not be secure and cause a loss of suction or blowing dust
- Turn machine on and place hand over end of hose to check for suction
- If no suction at end of hose, remove hose completely from machine and insert a broomstick through hose to clear any clogs
- Hose needs to be replaced if cracked or damaged
- Unplug vacuum
- Recline handle and insert a broomstick through lower hose to clear any clogs
If brush is not turning:
- Unplug vacuum
- Recline handle to floor, turn machine over
- Remove brush cover by taking out 5 screws
- Remove brush & belt
- Inspect belt, brush & brush cover for damage
- If damaged, part should be replaced
- Stand brush upright on hard surface and spin brush with one hand holding the top
- It should spin freely several times
- If brush doesn’t spin freely, it should be replaced
- Inspect brush endcaps for damage/ware/debris
- If damaged, brush should be replaced
- Remove all debris from brush and endcaps
- Install belt and brush into machine
- Rotate brush several times to align belt
- Replace brush cover and screws
- If all steps have been followed and machine is still not suctioning, visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us
