FJ4DNXA Fan Coil
Product Information
Product Name: FJ4DNXA18 Fan Coils
Date: 6/30/2023
Products Affected: FJ4DNXA18 Fan Coils
Technical Information
Situation: The 018 fan coils will be redesigned to be like the
rest of the product fan coil family. Starting week 24 of 2023, the
018 fan coils will include a white wire in the harness between W
and motor tap 4 which will call for the fan to operate without a
call for G from the thermostat. Most thermostats energize G when W
is energized or can be programmed to function this way.
On units built prior to week 24, 2023, use a thermostat that can
be programmed to initiate a G call with either Y or W or add a wire
from W to the motor tap 4 connection.
Design through week 23, 2023:
- Use a thermostat that can be programmed to initiate a G call
with either Y or W - Add a wire from W to the motor tap 4 connection
Design after week 23, 2023:
- The 018 fan coils will include a white wire in the harness
between W and motor tap 4 - This wire will call for the fan to operate without a call for G
from the thermostat
Note: Only trained and qualified personnel should design,
install, repair, and service HVAC systems and equipment. All
national standards and safety codes must be followed when
designing, installing, repairing, and servicing HVAC systems and
equipment. It is the responsibility of the Dealer to ensure local
codes, standards, and ordinances are met.
Product Usage Instructions
1. For units built through week 23, 2023:
- Ensure you have a thermostat that can be programmed to initiate
a G call with either Y or W. - If your thermostat does not support this, you will need to add
a wire from W to the motor tap 4 connection. This will enable the
fan to operate when W is energized.
2. For units built after week 23, 2023:
- The 018 fan coils will come with a white wire in the harness
between W and motor tap 4. - This wire is responsible for calling the fan to operate without
a call for G from the thermostat.
Ensure to follow all national standards and safety codes when
designing, installing, repairing, and servicing HVAC systems and
equipment. Only trained and qualified personnel should perform
these tasks. It is also important to comply with local codes,
standards, and ordinances.
