Product Information: 1130 Series Non-Handed Door Closer Arm
Model 1131

The 1130 Series Non-Handed Door Closer Arm Model 1131 is a
non-hold open arm model that comes with adjustable size 1-6. The
product is available in four types of installation – Regular Arm,
Top Jamb Mount, Parallel Arm, and Right Hand Door – RH Left Hand
Reverse – LHR. The product comes with a warning that it contains
lead which is known to the state of California to cause cancer and
birth defects or other reproductive harm. The product includes a
closer, pinion cap, 1/8 hex wrench, and screw pack. The product
also has optional components such as Main Arm Pinion Screw Regular
Arm/ Top Jamb Shoe, Arm Assembly, Main Arm, RU Soffit Plate (Used
with Parallel Arm Installation Only), Connecting Rod Forearm Screw,
Arm Slide, 60-0535 Cover, and 6-32 x 5/16 Pan Head Self Tapping
Screw. The product can be used for both exterior and interior
doors.

Product Usage Instructions: 1130 Series Non-Handed Door Closer
Arm Model 1131

Before starting the installation process, it is important to
determine the hand of the door and identify your model. For
determining the hand of the door, follow these instructions:

Right Hand Reverse – LEFT HAND DOOR
Left Hand Reverse – RIGHT HAND DOOR

To identify your model, refer to the product information section
of the user manual.

Follow these instructions for the installation process:

Read and follow all instructions given in the user manual. Save
the instructions for future reference.
An incorrectly installed or improperly adjusted door closer can
cause property damage or personal injury. Follow the installation
instructions carefully to avoid the possibility of misapplication
or misadjustment.
Doors should be hung on ball bearing or anti-friction hinges. A
separate door stop is recommended.
Use the provided hardware for mounting the product.
Drill holes in the door or frame as per the given dimensions in
inches (millimeters).

The product comes with closer adjustments that can be made using
the provided hex wrench. Never force valves out of the closer and
never completely close backcheck valve. Door must be open to adjust
spring closing power. Refer to the chart given in the user manual
for making adjustments.

Note: The use of a power drill will void the Warranty.

The product can be used for both exterior and interior doors.
Refer to the table given in the user manual for maximum door size
and type of installation.

y For special applications, a separate door and frame preparation template is packed with these instructions. Use this instruction sheet for installation sequence and closer adjustments only.
y Doors should be hung on ball bearing or anti-friction hinges.
y A separate door stop is recommended.

Closer Adjustments

Use provided hex wrench to turn valves. NEVER force valves out of closer. NEVER completely close backcheck valve. Door must be open to adjust spring closing power. Refer to the chart.
