*BISSELL 2X Portable Machine Formula is the only formula that should be used with this machine
- Empty dirty water tank
- Check that the dirty water tank plug is firmly in place
- Securely lock the bottom of the dirty water in place
- The gray plastic ring that twist to lock and unlock on the bottom of the tank
- Lift the hose above the machine
- Turn machine on
- Allow excess water in the hose flow into the dirty water tank
- Feel for suction with the palm of your hand at the rectangular motor-duct under the collection tank
- If there is no suction, please Contact Us
- If there is suction, check to see if the black “duck bill” gasket on the bottom of the dirty water tank is sealed, missing, or installed wrong
- Test to see if gasket will open by squeezing open the flat-end and then reinstalling it
- The tall side of the gasket should be inserted into the right, curved, outer-side of the collection tank
- Remove attachment at the end of the hose
- Check for suction by suctioning water out of the sink or a cup
- If there is no suction at the end of the hose, lift hose above machine to allow water to go to the dirty water tank
- If water does not flow into dirty water tank, please Contact Us
- If there is suction at the end of the hose, check the upholstery tool for cracks or damage, replace if necessary
- Check the float stack inside the dirty water tank for any clogs or malfunctions
