- Empty dust pans
- Check brushes
- Clean accumulated debris, lint, strings and carpet fibers that could prevent brush from rotating freely
- If brushes are worn or frayed, they should be replaced
- Static build-up could affect how well the sweeper can pick up debris
- Disposable laundry dryer sheets can be used to eliminate static
- Place sheet in dryer for a few minutes then wipe the brush/brushes for about a minute
