99-8233B Dash Kit

Product Information

The product is a kit with the part number 99-8233B designed for
installation in a Toyota Avalon model from 2011 to 2012 without
factory navigation. The kit is manufactured by Metra, a company
specializing in car audio and electronics accessories.

The kit includes the following features:

  • A provision for ISO DIN radio with a pocket
  • Secure radio brackets
  • Secure pocket
  • Climate control attachment
  • Panel clips for the radio trim panel

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Start by unclipping and removing the radio/climate trim panel
    (refer to Figure A).
  2. Remove the four 10mm screws securing the radio/climate control
    assembly (refer to Figure B).
  3. Remove the four Phillips screws securing the climate control to
    the factory bracket assembly (refer to Figure
    C
    ).
  4. ISO DIN Radio Provision with Pocket:
    1. Remove the metal DIN sleeve and trim ring from the aftermarket
      radio.
    2. Secure the radio brackets to the radio using the screws
      supplied with the radio (refer to Figure A).
    3. Secure the pocket to the radio bracket assembly using four #8 x
      3/8 Phillips screws supplied (refer to Figure
      A
      ).
    4. Secure the climate control to the completed assembly using the
      factory hardware (refer to Figure A).
    5. Locate the factory wiring harness and antenna connector in the
      dash and complete all necessary connections to the radio and
      factory components. Metra recommends using the proper mating
      adapter from Metra and/or Axxess. Test the radio and climate
      controls for proper operation.
    6. Attach the two panel clips supplied onto the radio trim panel,
      snap the panel to the vehicle, and then reassemble the dash in
      reverse order of disassembly (refer to Figure
      B
      ).
  5. ISO DDIN Radio Provision:
    1. Secure the radio brackets to the radio using the screws
      supplied with the radio (refer to Figure A).
    2. Secure the climate control to the completed assembly using the
      factory hardware (refer to Figure A).
    3. Locate the factory wiring harness and antenna connector in the
      dash and complete all necessary connections to the radio and
      factory components. Metra recommends using the proper mating
      adapter from Metra and/or Axxess. Test the radio and climate
      controls for proper operation.
    4. Attach the two panel clips supplied onto the radio trim panel,
      snap the panel to the vehicle, and then reassemble the dash in
      reverse order of disassembly (refer to Figure
      B
      ).

CAUTION! All accessories, switches, climate controls panels, and
especially air bag indicator lights must be connected before cycling the ignition. Also, do not remove the factory radio with the key in the on position, or while the vehicle is running.

ISO DIN radio provision with pocket

2. Secure the radio brackets to the radio using the screws supplied with the radio. (Figure A)
3. Secure the pocket to the radio bracket assembly using (4) #8 x 3/8″ Phillips screws supplied. (Figure A)
4. Secure the climate control to the completed assembly using the factory hardware. (Figure A)
5. Locate the factory wiring harness and antenna connector in the dash and complete all necessary connections to the radio and factory components. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter from Metra and/or Axxess. Test the radio and climate controls for proper operation.
6. Attach the (2) panel clips supplied onto the radio trim panel, snap the panel to the vehicle, and then reassemble the dash in reverse order of disassembly. (Figure B)
