Product Information: Water Source Heat Pump AxiomTM

The Water Source Heat Pump AxiomTM is a heating and cooling system that uses water as its heat source. It comes in various models, including EXVG009-030, EXVG036-070, DXHG024-070, EXHG009-024, and EXHG030-070. Each model has a different size, compressor type, net weight, ship weight, filter size nominal, water in/out size (FPT), condensate size (NPTI), and blower wheel size (inches). The system comes with various factory-installed and field-installed options such as ducted filter rack, deluxe controls, hot gas reheat, pump module, insulation, MERV filters, thermostats, drain pan, waterside economizer, and sound package.

Product Usage Instructions:

Before using the Water Source Heat Pump AxiomTM, ensure that it is installed correctly as per the installation manual. Ensure that the water source is connected to the system and that the system is powered on.

To control the system, use the provided thermostat or zone sensors. Set the desired temperature and mode (heating or cooling) using the controls. The system will automatically adjust its operation to maintain the set temperature.

Regular maintenance is necessary to ensure optimal performance of the system. Replace the air filters as per the manufacturer’s recommendations. Check the drain pan and clean it if necessary  Inspect the blower wheel and clean it if necessary. Check the water source and ensure that it is clean and free of debris.

Figure 1.Clearances – EXHG/DXHG 0.75 to 6 tons

TRANE EXVG Water Source Heat Pump-FIG1

A minimum 14-inch clearance for servicing the unit is required for all EXH 0.75 to 6 tons configurations from other mechanical and electrical equipment (where shown) to enable panel removal from the unit for service/maintenance ability. The optimum clearance required is 20 inches.

Figure 2.Clearances – EXVG/DXVG 0.75 to 6 tons

TRANE EXVG Water Source Heat Pump-FIG2

A 24-inch clearance from other mechanical and electrical equipment (where shown) is recommended for most unit configurations. This will enable panel removal from the unit for service/maintenance. The 24-inch side clearance on EXVG/DXVG 0.75-6T models is for optimal access only. Side clearance is not a requirement as most components can be accessed from the front of the unit.
A 1-inch minimum clearance between the filter rack and any obstacle is required for units in a free return application to provide proper airflow to the air-to-refrigerant coil. A 12-inch minimum clearance between the filter rack and any obstacle should be provided to properly attached ductwork. The 1-inch dimension shown in the back of the unit represents the supply duct collar for the back supply option. This clearance is needed to clear these flanges.
