Illusion 47 Built In Direct Vent Fireplace
Product Information
The product is a gas fireplace with a safety barrier, direct
venting, and a clear view glass. It has a maximum BTU of 24,000 for
both natural gas and LP. The minimum BTU for natural gas is 17,000
and for LP is also 17,000. The glass dimensions are 41.6875 x 16.75
with a surface area of 698 sq in. The height, depth, and width of
the fireplace are 39.0625, 18.3125, and 46.875 respectively. The
framing dimensions are 41.5 in height, 18.625 in depth, and 47.375
in width. The optional blower has a heat-activated type with six
speeds and 150 CFM. It requires a shelf depth of 6 inches and a
height of 43 inches from the bottom of the fireplace.
Product Usage Instructions
GAS COLLECTION
The minimum framing dimensions for gas collection are 3.1. The
minimum clearance from the top of the horizontal vent pipe to
combustible materials can be reduced from 3” (76mm) to 1” (25mm)
in installations with a minimum 38” (96.5cm) vertical vent rise
made immediately off the appliance collar. The vent shield is
telescopic and must be adjusted to shield the full depth of the
combustible wall penetration.
SIDE WALL
Keep objects at least 4 feet away from the appliance. A, B, C,
D, E, and F represent the minimum clearances from the appliance for
the measurements mentioned in the text.
CEILING
The minimum clearance from the base of the appliance to the
ceiling is 14 inches (35.6 cm). The minimum clearance to
combustible header is B, which is 47 3/8” (120.3cm). The minimum
clearance to combustible drywall is G, which is 39 3/8”
(100cm).
FRAMING AND CLEARANCES
The minimum clearance to combustible enclosures is 10.3. Use
firestop spacer W010-4404 (supplied) when passing through a wall
and use firestop spacer W500-0096 (not supplied) when passing
through a ceiling. The minimum clearance to combustible mantel is
shown in the table with mantel depth ranging from 0 to 10
inches.

11.2 minimum clearance to combustible enclosures
WARNING
· Non-combustible facing material must not project more than 4” (102mm) from the face of the door (all three sides). If greater projections are desired, increase the clearance to the sides and top by 2” (51mm) for every additional 1” (25mm) of projection. If using an optional surround, the same rules applies, starting from the top of the surround. Ensure clearances are maintained for surround removal, as it must life of the appliance for maintenance.
