- Unplug machine
- Make sure brush motor is turned on at hose grip
- Recline handle
- When locked in the upright position, the brush motor automatically shuts off
- Make sure the brush is free of debris
- Machine has automatic brush shut off switch to turn brush off if an object is lodged in it
- Check brush and belt
- Remove access plate
- Remove two screws
- Pull up on the front of access plate first
- Remove access plate
- Brush should turn freely by hand
- If belt is damaged, replace belt
- If brush does not turn freely by hand, replace brush
