Product Usage Instructions:

Fitting:

For RF / Battery components:

  • Provide a socket box preferably with a minimum depth of 47 mm
    and 2 screw holes.
  • Connect the cables as shown in the table below.
  • Ensure none of the cables are live before connecting them.

For RF components:

  • Observe a maximum distance of 350 m (line of sight) between the
various components (obstacles can reduce this distance
    substantially).
  • Maintain a minimum distance of 30 cm between the component and
material causing RF interference such as metal.
  • Other RF equipment operating at 868 MHz can also have a
    detrimental effect on component range.

To connect the room operating unit / room
sensor:

  • A choice can be made between wireless communication (RF / 230
VAC) or wired communication (Wired / 24 VDC).
  • Use an EN60335-certified power source.
  • Connect the 5 x 0.8 mm solid core cable using the screw
    connectors.

Linking to Ventilation System:

  1. Activate ‘Installer mode’ by tapping ‘INST’ on the master unit
(DucoBox or IQ-unit). The LED will flash green rapidly.
  2. For zonal systems only: Tap the button on a control valve once
so the LED starts to flash green rapidly. Underlying components can
now be added in this zone.
  3. Add the User controller / Sensor by tapping once on any random
button on this component (On a CO2 Sensor without controller, the
LED opening can be pressed.). The LED will start to flash green
    rapidly.
  4. Add any window ventilators by tapping once on the component to
be paired. The LED will flash green slowly.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all remaining components in the
    current zone are paired.
  6. For zonal systems only: Repeat steps 2 to 5 inclusive for the
    remaining zones.
  7. Once all components have been paired, ‘Installer mode’ can be
deactivated by tapping ‘INST’ on the ‘master unit’. The LEDs on all
components will stop flashing and return to their normal
    indication.

Please refer to the user manual at www.duco.eu for more detailed instructions.

04 Linking to ventilation system

PAIRING
Perform the following steps to pair a User controller / Sensor with the ventilation system.
NOTE: to pair a control with an iAV Control valve, follow the steps in the iAV Control valve manual.
1 Activate `Installer mode’ by tapping `INST’ on the master unit (DucoBox or IQ-unit). The LED will flash green rapidly. 2 For zonal systems only: Tap the button on a control valve once so the LED starts to flash green rapidly.Underlying components can
now be added in this zone. 3 Add the User controller / Sensor by tapping once on any random button on this component (On a CO2 Sensor without controller, the
LED opening can be pressed.). The LED will start to flash green rapidly. 4 Add any window ventilators by tapping once on the component to be paired. The LED will flash green slowly. 5 Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all remaining components in the current zone are paired. 6 For zonal systems only: Repeat steps 2 to 5 inclusive for the remaining zones. 7 Once all components have been paired, `Installer mode’ can be deactivated by tapping `INST’ on the `master unit’. The LEDs on all
components will stop flashing and the system will revert to `User mode’.

REMOVING AND REPLACING
Removing paired components from the network or replacing is only possible within 30 minutes after the component is paired in or is restarted. Restarting can be done by disconnecting the power for a moment. After a time-span of 30 minutes, remove and replace operations are ignored. This is valid for all components from date of manufacture 170323.
Removing a user controller / sensor
1 Activate `Installer mode’ by longpressing 2 diagonal buttons on the control to be removed. The LED will flash green rapidly. The LED will flash green rapidly.
2 Press once and hold the button for the component in order to remove it from the network (With a CO2 Sensor without control, the LED opening can be pressed). The LED will flash red.
3 Deactivate `Installer mode’ via `INST’ on the master unit. The LED will turn white.
Replacing an RF control / Room sensor
1 Activate `Installer mode’ by tapping `INST’ on the master unit. The LED will flash green rapidly. 2 Tap twice briefly on any random button on the control/Room sensor to be replaced (With a CO2 Sensor without control, the LED
opening can be pressed). The LED will flash red. 3 Tap once briefly on any random button on the new controller / sensor. The latter will take on all settings/ connections in the network.
The LED will flash green. 4 Deactivate `Installer mode’ using the `INST’ button on the master unit or via the “palm-of-the-hand” method (see TIPS). The LED will
turn white.
