HOW TO SETUP
Make sure the tracker is fully charged, that it is turned on, and that your pet is wearing it. Open the Tractive GPS app and follow the on-screen instructions to create an account for your pet and grant the appropriate app permissions. The Tractive GPS now lets you track your pet with confidence!
HOW TO CONNECT TO PHONE
Ensure that your Tractive GPS tracker is activated and close by your smartphone. Tap on Activity at the bottom of the screen when the Tractive GPS app is open. Finally, activate the sync by pressing the refresh button in the top right corner of the screen.
HOW TO TURN OFF
Press the power button again for 3 seconds to turn the GPS unit off. You will then hear a series of falling beeps. Additionally, the LED will flash red for one second. The red light could occasionally stay on for a few seconds.
HOW TO INSTALL A VIRTUAL FENCE
- Select Virtual Fences under Tracker > Profile.
- Click Add Fence.
- Determine whether your virtual fence should be a safe zone or no-go area before setting its name, form, and icon.
- To enlarge or reduce the green or red dot at the Virtual Fence’s edge, use your mouse.

Tractive has several roaming partners in every country – therefore we do work with different providers in the US as well. We always try to connect to the best available network.
It does not matter, where the tracker is – as we use the mobile network and therefore a SIM card is integrated in the tracker. Please keep in mind that you need a subscription for that – all plans can be found via tractive.com/plans
You can set several virtual fences – no matter where they are. And yes – if 2 dogs are at different locations you can track both of them with the same account (but you need one subscription per tracker).
Yes, in case you have to replace a tracker for whatever reason you can easily transfer the subscription from one tracker to another one.

You can add several pets to your profile in the app – but every tracker needs a separate subscription (no matter, which duration you select).
Absolutely, we recommend the minimum weight of around 9lbs, so for a 50lbs dog this would be great.
Our rubber clips fit collars up to 2.8 cm (1 inch) wide, so the tracker should be able to attach securely to any collar with up to width.

To start receiving position updates from this tracker, you will need to purchase a subscription plan for the tracker. The reason for this is that each tracker contains an inbuilt SIM card that generates monthly costs – like a cell phone. These costs are covered by the subscription plan. Without a subscription plan, it’s not possible to receive position updates from the tracker.
The tracker will connect to the strongest network in the area in over 175 countries. Unfortunately, if the cell coverage is too weak, the tracker will struggle to send GPS positions from the tracker to your phone so you might have difficulties tracking (in remote areas for example). We do offer a 30 day subscription refund policy which gives you the opportunity to try the tracker out and see if it will work in your area.
