Product Information

The Shaw Extra Large Flush Mount (Item # S 4044) is a light
fixture that should be installed in accordance with all applicable
local installation codes. It is important to have a person familiar
with the construction and operation of the fixture, as well as the
hazards involved, to perform the installation. The fixture should
be inspected carefully upon receipt, and if any damage or defect is
found, it should not be installed. All packaging material should be
retained until installation is complete and approved.

The fixture comes with a mounting plate, fixture body, light
source, quick connector, glass shade, and screws. It requires tools
such as a Phillips screwdriver, slotted screwdriver, drill, pencil,
and hammer for installation.

Product Usage Instructions

1. Carefully remove all parts from the box and place them on a
   clean, soft surface.
2. Remove the mounting plate from the fixture body by removing the
   screws.
3. Remove the light source from the mounting plate by removing the
   screws.
4. Using the mounting plate as a guide, line it up with the
   junction box and mark anchor positions.
5. Drill holes in the marked positions slightly smaller than the
   anchors. Install anchors into the holes using a hammer.
6. Install the mounting plate to the junction box and secure it
   with mounting screws and wood screws to the anchors.
7. Run the support cable through the hole on the back of the
   mounting plate. Loosen the cable lock and install it to the end of
   the support cable. Insert the other end of the cable through the
   cable lock and tighten the ends with a screwdriver to secure.
8. Remove the quick connector from the light source.
9. Wrap the quick connector ground wire around the green grounding
   screw. Tighten it.
10. Continue the quick connector ground wire and connect it to the
    supply ground wire using a wire nut. Ensure that the fixture is
    grounded.
11. Connect the quick connector neutral wire to the supply neutral
    wire using a wire nut.
12. Connect the quick connector hot wire to the supply hot wire
    using a wire nut. Ensure that the hot and neutral connections are
    not reversed.
13. Tuck all wire connections carefully into the junction box.
14. Connect the quick connectors together, then install the light
    source to the mounting plate and secure it with screws.
15. Install the glass shade to the fixture body and secure it with
    screws. Do not over-tighten to avoid damage.
16. Install the fixture body to the mounting plate and secure it
    with screws.

Care Instructions

Clean the fixture only with a soft dry cloth or feather duster.
Do not use abrasive or chemical agents.

1. Carefully remove all parts from the box. Place on a clean, soft surface.

2. Remove mounting plate (C) from fixture body (L) by removing

screws (K).

3. Remove light source (H) from mounting plate (C) by removing

screws (I). H
4. Using mounting plate (C) as a guide, line up with the junction box and

mark anchor positions.

5. Using a drill bit slightly smaller than the anchor, drill holes in the

marked positions. Install anchors (B) into the holes using hammer.

6. Install mounting plate (C) to the junction box and secure with

K mounting screws (D), then secure wood screws (F) to anchors (B).

7. Run support cable through hole on back of mounting plate (C).

Loosen cable lock and install to end of support cable. Insert other end

of cable through the cable lock and tighten ends with a screwdriver to

secure. (see diagram 1)

8 Remove quick connector (E1) from light source.

9. Wrap quick connector ground wire (bare copper) around the green

grounding screw (see diagram 2). Tighten. Continue quick connector

ground wire and connect to supply ground wire (usually green or bare

copper) using wire nut (A).

NOTE: It is imperative that the fixture is grounded.

10. Connect quick connector neutral wire (white) to the supply neutral

wire (usually white) using wire nut (A).

11. Connect quick connector hot wire (black) to the supply hot

wire (usually black) using wire nut (A).

CAUTION: Do not reverse the hot and neutral connections.

12. Make sure all wire connections are tight, then carefully tuck into the

junction box.

13. Connect quick connectors (E1 & E2) together, then install light

source (H) to mounting plate (C) and secure with screws (I).

14. Install glass shade (M) to fixture body (L) and secure with screws (J).

NOTE: Do not over-tighten otherwise shade could become damaged.

15. Install fixture body (L) to mounting plate (C) and secure with

screws (K). J
