660066 Streamline Heater
Product Information
The Stream line Heater (660066) is a product manufactured by an
ISO 9001:2015 registered company, Vintage Air. The heater kit
includes Stream line Heater Wiring and Hardware Kit (part no.
231089) and all necessary components for installation. The heater
unit has a defrost unit and uses 5/8 inch heater connections. For
engines with 3/4 inch hose nipples, they need to be replaced with
5/8 inch nipples (not supplied). The product comes with a packing
list and should be checked upon receipt for any missing or damaged
items.
Product Usage Instructions
- Remove the four 1/4 x 1/2 button head screws from the
rear-mounting bracket. - Place the heater in the desired position on the firewall and
mark the (4) holes in the firewall using the rear bracket as a
template. Remove the heater and drill (4) 1/4 inch holes. - Temporarily install the heater unit on the firewall using the
previously removed 1/4 x 1/2 button head screws. - Prepare the heater hoses by removing 3/4 inch hose nipples and
replacing them with 5/8 inch nipples (not supplied) if needed.
Route the heater hose from the water pump to the bottom heater coil
line and secure it using (2) hose clamps. Route another heater hose
from the intake to the top heater coil line and secure it using (2)
hose clamps. - Reinstall the heater unit using the provided (4) button head
screws. - Cut the intake heater hose approximately 5 inches from the
firewall and install the heater control valve in-line with the
proper flow direction using (2) hose clamps. Do not overtighten
clamps.

Heater Unit I nstallation
1 . Rem ove t he ( 4) 1/ 4 x 1/ 2″ but t on head screws from t he rear- m ount ing bracket ( See Figure 1, below) .
2 . Place the heater in the desired position on the firewall and using the rear bracket as a template mark the (4) holes in the firewall, then remove the heater and drill (4) 1/4″ holes.
3 . Temporarily, install the heater unit on firewall using the previously removed 1/4 x 1/2″ button head screws ( See Figure 2, below) .

N OTE: Vint age Air syst em s use 5 / 8 ” heat er connect ions. On engines equipped w it h 3 / 4 ” hose nipples, these w ill need to be rem oved and replaced w ith 5 / 8 ” nipples ( not supplied) . For w ater pumps with a cast-in 3/4″ heater outlet, a 3/4″ x 5/8″ reducer fitting (not supplied) or molded hose w ill need to be installed in the heater hose.
1 . Once the heater is in the desired location, prepare two heater hoses and find a location in the firewall to run the hoses and the heater control valve connector through. I f drilling new holes, you m ust drill ( 2) 1 ¼ ” holes for t he heat er hose grom m et s and ( 1) 5/ 8″ hole for t he wiring grom m et . NOTE: Be sure to find a good location for the heater hose’s holes, m aking sure that the hoses w ill not be kinked after installing it on the heater lines. Rem ove the rubber plugs from the heater nipples before connecting the hose s. Coil is shippe d unde r pr e ssur e , be ca r e ful w he n r e m oving t he r ubbe r plugs fr om t he heater.
2 . Once the hoses have been prepared and measured, remove the heater from the firewall to have access t o install the heater hoses to the heater coil lines.
3 . I nsert a rubber grom m et onto the heater hose and route it from the water pum p to the bottom heater coil line as shown in Figure 3, below, and secure using ( 2) hose clam ps.
4 . I nsert a rubber grom m et onto the heater hose and route it from the intake to the top heater coil line as shown in Figure 3, below. Secure using ( 2) hose clam ps ( See Figure 3, below) .
5 . Reinst all t he heat er unit using t he provided ( 4) but t on head screws.
6 . From the engine compartment, cut the intake heater hose approximately 5″ from the firewall and install the heater control valve in-line with the proper flow direction using (2) hose clamps (See Figure 3, below). N OTE: Do not overt ight en clam ps.

W iring I nstallation
1 . Disconnect t he bat t ery.
2 . Determ ine the desired route from the stream line heater unit to your chosen fused and switched power source, as well as a suitable ground.
3 . I f no fused source is available, utilize provided fuse accessories and connect to your chosen power source.
4 . Connect t he whit e ground wire t o a reliable ground soure wit hin t he cabin.
5 . Assem ble t he wiring grom m et ont o t he heat er cont rol valve ( HCV) wiring. N OTE: Use ca u t ion t o n ot dam age the connector or contacts.
6 . Route the HCV connector through the 5/8″ hole in the firewall and install the grommet onto the firewall. 7 . I nside t he cabin, connect t he HCV connect ors.
NOTE: To avoid excessive key-off current, it is very important that the red power wire on this harness is connected to a switched ignition source that turns off with the ignition switch.

Final Steps
1 . The switch knob has a protective film. Remove this film before operating (See Photo 1, below). N OTE: D o n ot use sharp objects.
2 . Fill t he radiat or wit h coolant , and check all heat er connect ions for leaks.
3 . St art t he engine and run it unt il norm al operat ing t em perat ure is reached. Turn on t he swit ch by rot at ing it t o t he right ; t he swit ch has t hree fan speeds ( OFF, 1, 2 and 3) . The heat er will st art heat ing t he vehicle.
4 . When the valve is closed the inlet side of the valve should be hot and the outlet side should be cool. When the valve is open, both the inlet and outlet sides should be hot.
