the bootie in contact with the ESD flooring.
  3. Wear the booties on both feet.
  4. Before wearing the booties, test them using a footwear tester
(with a lower limit of 50 kilohms and an upper limit of 35 megohms)
    according to ESD TR53.
  5. Compliance verification should be performed prior to each use,
such as at the start of each day or shift change, to ensure proper
    functionality.
  6. If the foot grounders are worn outside the ESD protected area,
consider testing them for functionality before re-entering the ESD

Description
Desco ESD Cleanroom Booties are designed to be worn by personnel grounded via a Flooring/Footwear System per ANSI/ESD S20.20.
“ESD protective flooring, used with approved footwear, may be used as an alternative to the wrist strap system for standing operations.” [ANSI/ESD S20.20 section 6.2.2.2] Desco ESD Cleanroom Booties are to be worn with grounding tab placed in the person’s shoe under their foot with grounding tab portion at bottom of the Bootie in contact with ESD flooring. Booties are to be worn on both feet, and while worn should be tested per ESD TR53 using a footwear tester (with lower limit of 50 kilohms and 35 megohms upper limit). It is a suitable ESD footwear component in ANSI/ESD S20.20 Flooring/Footwear System tested per ANSI/ESD STM97.1. A
Components:
A. Blue texturized polyester with carbon mono-filament nylon upper surface. B. 3/8″ wide, 18″ long polyester ribbon contains 8 electrically conductive carbon suffused
fibers. C. 1/4″ socket snap allows the bootie to be securely closed at top of shoes.
D. Dual layer rubber material, black conductive inner layer, and dark blue dissipative outer layer bottom surface. Designed not to scratch or mark flooring.

NOTE: “Compliance verification should be performed prior to each use (daily, shift change, etc.). The accumulation of insulative materials may increase the foot grounder system resistance. If foot grounders are worn outside the ESD protected area testing for functionality before re-entry to the ESD protected area should be considered.” [ESD SP9.2 APPENDIX B – Foot Grounder Usage Guidance] Tab to Bottom resistance:
Rtt: 5 x 104 to 5 x 106 ohms tested per ESD TR53
