Check the status of the pump regularly to avoid having the unit operate without water.
Please use the supplied hoses or similar rigid hoses or pipes for the inlet/outlet to avoid blockages which can affect the cooling capacity of the machine.
Check the water circulation system regularly to ensure the normal operation of water flow.
Please clean the Buddy Chiller Unit regularly (usually 1-2 monthly) to ensure that the machine is well ventilated and to prevent dust from sticking to the condenser and causing poor heat dissipation.
If the machine is likely to be unused for a long period of time, please turn off the power and drain the water. Place the Chiller in a clean, ventilated and dry place to ensure that it is ready for future use.

SET UP REQUIREMENTS
05
1 POSITION UNIT
The water Buddy Chiller Unit should be installed in a flat position and kept evenly balanced. Avoid sunlight or direct water spray. Ensure that the air inlet fan is positioned at least 30cm from the closest surface and that the air outlet is positioned at least 40cm from the closest surface.
22 LOCK WHEELS
The water chiller base is equipped with 4 universal wheels, which can move or be easily fixed. Once you have positioned the Buddy Chiller Unit in the desired location, press down on the black lever located above the wheel itself until you feel resistance. Increase the pressure of the push until you hear a click and the lever is not able to be pressed down any further.
3 CHECK HOSES
Two flexible hoses separately connect the inlet and outlet of the Buddy Chiller Unit to your bath. Before connecting the power, please check all pipes to ensure that there are no leaks, blockages or breaks.
WARNING:
Check the condenser regularly for heat dissipation to ensure efficient use. You may notice a considerable amount of condensation which may require the use of a drip tray.
06
SETTING UP THE CHILLER UNIT
AND BATH
Following are the 3 steps to setting up your Buddy Chiller Unit and bath. It is important to do the steps in the order shown, making sure the hoses are connected BEFORE the bath is filled, as the bath may need to be tilted when connecting the ball valve at the base of the bath.
CHILLER UNIT SET UP
1 CONNECT THE HOSES
Screw the applicable 25mm fitting into the “OUT” port on the Buddy Chiller Unit and the other into the top port of the ice bath.
Screw the applicable 32mm fitting into the “IN” port on the Buddy Chiller Unit.
Screw the ball valve into the bottom port of the ice bath.
Screw the second 32mm fitting into the end of the ball valve.
Connect one end of the 25mm hose to the 25mm fitting on the Buddy Chiller Unit via the cam-lock fitting and connect the other end to the 25mm fitting on the ice bath via the cam-lock fitting.
Connect one end of the 32mm hose to the 32mm fitting on the Buddy Chiller Unit via the cam-lock fitting and connect the other end to the 25mm fitting on the ice bath via the cam-lock fitting.
TIP:
Use plumbing tape around all threads including the inlet and outlet ports of the Chiller Unit and ice bath.
2 FILL THE BATH
The bath should NOT be filled before the hoses have been connected as the bath may need to be tilted slightly when connecting the ball valve at the base of the bath.
For the Recovery Bath Compact and Duo Models, ensure the bath is filled to a level ABOVE the inlet hole at the top of the bath. For the Ice Bath Solo, Twin and Trio, the water level will be below the inlet hole (see diagram on adjacent page).
3 POWER UP THE CHILLER UNIT
Confirm that the safety switch at the rear of the Buddy Chiller Unit is in the “ON” position. Connect the power cable at the rear of the Buddy Chiller Unit to a compatible, allocated wall socket. Switch the power on at the wall socket. The Buddy Chiller Unit is now operating and the display screen is illuminated.

ACTIVATING THE BUDDY CHILLER UNIT
Press the ON/OFF button on the operating screen for 1.5
1 seconds until the button appears backlit by a round red circle. The Buddy Chiller Unit is now operational.
To activate the pump, press the PUMP button for 1.5 seconds
2 until a second audible beep is heard. The button will now be
backlit in red and you will also notice that the “COLD” light at the top left of the operating screen is backlit and flashing green. You will hear the water circulating through the system and will also be able to see and feel water flowing into the ice bath via the inlet port at the top of the ice bath.
To set the desired water temperature, press the “SET” button for
3 1.5 seconds until a second audible beep is heard. You will notice
that the top number flashes red and the word “SET” appears in orange below it. This allows you to set the desired temperature whilst the temperature value is flashing. Press arrow up or arrow down to increase or decrease your desired water temperature in increments of 0.1 Degrees Celsius.
Once you have set your desired temperature, the display screen
4 will flash for a few seconds before returning to the home screen. At this point, if you don’t wish to alter any of the other menu settings, do not press any other buttons. The Actual Water Temperature will be shown on the top in red and the Set Water Temperature at the bottom in orange.
The Buddy Chiller Unit is now preparing to cool and will activate
5 within 3 minutes. At the 3 minute mark you will hear the
condenser begin operating which indicates that the refrigeration component is now operational.
To change any of the menu setting shown on the Menu Code
6 table of this User Manual, press the “SET” button for 6 seconds until a second audible beep is heard.
The system password now has to be entered and has been
7 preset to 95. Press the arrow up or arrow down buttons until you reach this number. When the number is reached and appears on the screen, press the “SET” button and the first menu option “F1” will appear.
Use the up and down arrows to alter the values and the screen
8 will flash for a few seconds before returning to the home screen, automatically saving your setting. Alternatively, you can quick press the “SET” button to move to the next menu option.
9 When you are ready to turn off the Buddy Chiller Unit, press the pump button for 1.5 seconds to power off the pump, followed by the ON/OFF button. The pump button will no longer be backlit and the temperature setting on the screen will read `OFF’.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
09 An open circuit or short circuit fault of the water E 1 temperature sensor, which limits the temperature control work.
Have the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons check if the port where the sensor wire is connected to the controller is loose? If so, it may need to be tightened.
The defrosting sensor has an open circuit or a short circuit
E2 fault.
This error is only applicable for heating units and does not relate to the Buddy Chiller Unit.
Water Flow Failure.
E3 This error occurs when air is trapped in the system. The Buddy Chiller Unit will automatically attempt to clear the air to restore normal operation. If the air is not cleared after three cycles, power off the unit and disconnect the hose from the inlet port of the ice bath to release the water. Reconnect the hose and power up the unit to resume normal operation.
Low pressure fault of the refrigeration system, which limits
E4 the temperature control work.
This error is generally related to other models with a capacity greater than 5HP. Please contact customer support should this error occur in your Buddy Chiller Unit.
High pressure fault of the refrigeration system, which limits
E5 the temperature control work.
This error is generally related to other models with a capacity greater than 5HP. Please contact customer support should this error occur in your Buddy Chiller Unit.
EE Communication failure caused by communication line or communication chip damage. Have the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons unplug the communication line waterproof connector, re-docking, check whether the communication terminal on the control board is loose or off, and re-tighten.
The temperature sensor temperature is equal to or lower than
EL 2ºC (35ºF) and the ultra low temperature alarm is activated.
The function of the temperature control is limited. Power off the Buddy Chiller Unit immediately and then power on again after at least half an hour. Note: this error is unlikely to occur as the operating temperature of the unit is above 5 Degrees Celsius.
The temperature sensor temperature is equal to 42ºC temperature
EH (95ºF) and the ultra high alarm is triggered. The function of the
temperature control is limited. This error does not apply to the Buddy Chiller Unit as it has a cooling function only.
