CAUTION
The following installation instructions are very basic. If you feel unsure about personally installing this speaker system, Dual recommends acquiring the services of a professional car audio installation center.
Before installation, please follow these guidelines:
- Be sure to carefully read and understand the instructions before attempting to install this product.
- For safety, disconnect the negative terminal from the battery prior to beginning the installation.
- For easier assembly: If additional wiring is required, we recommend running all wires prior to mounting your speaker in place.
- Use the highest quality connectors for a reliable installation and to minimize signal or power loss.
- Use caution before you drill or cut! Be careful not to cut or drill into gas tanks, fuel lines, brake or hydraulic lines, vacuum lines or electrical wiring when working on any vehicle.
- Never run speaker wires underneath your vehicle. Running speaker wires inside the vehicle provides the best protection from exhaust heat and environmental elements.
- Avoid running wires over, near, or through sharp edged surfaces. We suggest you also use rubber grommets to protect any wires routed through metal.
- When running the speaker cable from the amplifier, avoid running it near sources of high current (i.e. wiring harnesses, battery cables).
Mounting
- Determine where the speakers will be mounted. Make sure the area is large enough for the speaker to mount evenly. Also ensure the mounting location is deep enough for the speaker to fit.
- Refer to the specification chart to determine the proper diameter hole to cut for your speaker model.
- If needed, use the grille as a template to mark the locations for the mounting screws. Drill the holes with a 3/32″ bit.
- Be sure to observe proper polarity when connecting the wires. The speaker’s positive terminal is indicated with a “+” symbol.
- Fit the speaker to the hole cut-out. Mount the speaker using the supplied screws. If the speaker grill is to be used, insert 4 screws into the grill holes and then mount the speaker.

FAQs
In conclusion, a 2-way speaker is preferable if you have a limited budget, while a 3-way speaker is fantastic if you enjoy music and care about sound quality. The professionals at El Cajon’s Audio Shack will assist you if you’re still not sure whether you want a 2-way or 3-way speaker system.
A speaker with three distinct drivers—a bass, midrange, and treble driver—is known as a three-way speaker. The bass component is frequently handled by the woofer. The treble and super-treble sections are solely the responsibility of the tweeter, while the midrange driver is in charge of the midrange or mid-high frequency.
In conclusion, coaxial speakers are considerably superior to the single-cone speakers featured on OEM vehicles in terms of sound quality and range coverage. Coaxial speakers can be 3-way as well, however they are less popular than 2-way speakers.
A crossover is necessary for 2 way, 3 way, and 4 way speakers. A Low Pass Filter or a crossover will be required if you install a subwoofer. They are frequently included in modern powered subwoofers along with an amplifier.
The mid-range, woofer, and tweeter drivers, collectively known as the 3-way speaker, produce sound.
A three-way speaker just needs one amplified input. Three components make up a 3-way speaker; these are likely a woofer, a mid-range speaker, and a high-frequency speaker.
In professional audio, coaxial loudspeakers allow sound from two drivers to emanate from a single source. In comparison to loudspeaker enclosures featuring physically isolated drivers, this feature enables a larger field of listening to a synchronized summation of speaker drivers.
Due to their ability to reproduce a wider range of audio frequencies from a single speaker, coaxial speakers are frequently referred to as “full-range” speakers. The drivers in these speakers are identical to those in component speakers, but they have been merged to save space and money.
A coaxial speaker, to put it simply, combines a woofer and a tweeter into one component. There is an additional midrange driver in the three-way variant. On a pole that extends to the centre, the tweeter and midrange speaker are mounted. They now have access to the entire audio spectrum in a little package.
Even with a subwoofer, a 3-way system will perform better than a 2-way because each driver will only operate in the frequency band that is best for it, putting less strain on it and allowing it to handle more power with less distortion.
Because 3-way speakers have an additional driver, a dedicated subwoofer that solely handles low frequencies, they offer more options and generally superior sound quality. Three-way speaker types are offered by some of the top speaker manufacturers. improved voice clarity If the cross-over is effective, distortion won’t occur.
Coaxial cables connected to a modem, receiver box, etc. do really carry current.
You generally don’t need a second crossover if your automobile audio system uses coaxial speakers. The frequencies that reach each driver are already filtered by passive crossovers that are already present in full-range speakers. The built-in speaker crossovers should be more than plenty, even if you add an amplifier to the mix.
Coaxial digital connections are the most typical kind of digital audio connections. Similar to an RCA connector, a digital coaxial connector transfers digital data rather than analogue signals.
