ZWO EAF Mounting Bracket for Skywatcher Espirt Refractors
Starizona ZWO EAF Mounting Bracket for Skywatcher Esprit
Refractors
Installation Instructions
The bracket kit includes the bracket itself, a pair of M4 x 35mm
screws, a pair of M4 x 40mm screws, and a pair of washers. The
necessary tools for installation are included with the ZWO EAF
motor.
Esprit 80
The Esprit 80 uses the longer pair of screws and the closer pair
of slots on the bracket.
Esprit 100/120/150
The Esprit 100 and larger scopes use the shorter pair of screws
and the wider pair of slots on the bracket.
- Use two of the screws that come with the EAF kit to attach the
bracket to the motor. The long plate on the motor goes toward the
shaft on the motor. The bottom edge of the short plate should be
aligned with the bottom edge of the motor housing, but there is
some room for adjustment if necessary. - The EAF bracket attaches to the existing mounting screw holes
on the left side of the Esprit focuser. Start by removing the
screws from these holes. The 3mm hex wrench included with the EAF
motor will fit these screws. The screws that come with the bracket
will be used to replace these screws after the bracket is
installed. - Remove the focus knob from the left side of the Esprit focuser.
There is a set screw on the knob that is accessible through the
center hole on the left side of the focuser pinion block. You will
need to rotate the knob to line up the screw with the hole. The 2mm
hex wrench included with the EAF motor will fit this screw. - Install the appropriate shaft coupler (included with the EAF)
onto the shaft where the knob was. You access the set screws
through the same hole used to remove the focus knob. - Insert the shaft on the motor into the shaft coupler. Slide it
far enough in so that the necessary slots on the bracket line up
with the mounting holes on the focuser. The Esprit 80 uses the
narrower pair of slots, the larger Esprits use the wider pair of
slots. Once in place, tighten the two set screws on the shaft
collar to the motor shaft. - Use the screws included with the bracket to attach the bracket
to the focuser. The Esprit 80 uses the longer screws, the larger
Esprits use the shorter screws. The image above shows the
installation on the Esprit 80. The image below shows an Esprit 100
(same as 120/150).
