Audio-Technica ATH-IEX1 Hi-Res in-Ear Headphones

Introduction
The ATH-IEX1 in-ear headphones provide natural sound reproduction that is smooth and consistent throughout the entire frequency range. Superior Audio Two balanced armature drivers and dual phase drivers with varying diameters (9 8 mm and 8 8 mm) are housed within the solid titanium housings of the headphones. The 8 8 mm serves as a passive radiator to amplify the lower frequency while the 9 8 mm serves as a full-range driver. The diaphragm movements of those two units are synchronized as they face one another, reducing distortion and producing audio that is true to the original sound. To contribute to accurate high-frequency reproduction, the balanced armature drivers function as super tweeters.

- Audio-Technica will not be liable in any way for any loss of data in the unlikely event that such losses should occur while using the product.
- On public transport systems or in other public places, keep the volume low so as not to disturb other people.
- Minimize the volume on your audio device before connecting the product in order to avoid hearing damage from sudden exposure to excessive volume.
- When using the product in a dry environment, you may feel a tingling sensation in your ears. This is caused by static electricity accumulated on your body, not by product malfunction.
- Do not subject the product to a strong impact.
- Do not store the product under direct sunlight, near heating devices, or in a hot, humid, or dusty place. Do not allow the product to get wet.
- When the product is used for a long time, the product may become discolored due to ultraviolet light (especially direct sunlight) or wear.

Care
Get into the habit of regularly cleaning the product to ensure that it will last for a long time. Do not use alcohol, paint thinners, or other solvents for cleaning purposes.
- Use a dry cloth to clean the headphones.
- Natural oils from the skin are particularly likely to build up on the ear tip attachment parts (see figure at right). If these areas are not cleaned, the ear tips can become detached. Clean them regularly. Do not touch the areas where sound is produced as they are delicate. Doing so may result in malfunction.
- Use a dry cloth to clean the cable of any sweat or dirt. Failure to clean the cable may cause it to deteriorate and harden over time, resulting in malfunction.
- Wipe the cable’s plugs with a dry cloth if dirty. Using the plugs without cleaning them can cause sound interruption or distortion.

- For long-time storage, keep the product in a well-ventilated place without high temperatures and humidity.
- Refer to ”Cleaning the ear tips” in ”About the ear tips” to learn how to clean the ear tips.
About the ear tips
Size and position
The product comes with silicone ear tips in four sizes (XS, S, M, and L). At the time of purchase, the M-size silicone ear tips are attached and positioned in the standard position.
To ensure the best sound quality and position, select the ear tip size that is best suited for you, and adjust the ear tips inside your ears for a snug fit. It may be difficult to hear bass sounds if the ear tips do not fit snugly in your ears.
Refer to “About COMPLY™ foam ear tips” for use of COMPLY™ foam ear tips.
2 POSITION POST
2 position post maximizes sound isolation while providing a better fit.

Cleaning the ear tips
Remove ear tips from the product and clean them with a diluted detergent. After cleaning, dry before use.
Replacing the ear tip
Remove the old ear tip and attach the new ear tip by pushing it onto the headphone at an angle (see figure). Push firmly on the ear tip so that the inside of the ear tip expands, and push the ear tip onto the post as far as it will go
- The ear tips are designed to fit tightly to the product so that they will not come loose unintentionally.

- Periodically remove and clean the ear tips as they become dirty easily. Using dirty ear tips may cause the headphones themselves to become dirty, resulting in deteriorated sound quality.
- Eartips are consumable parts that degrade through storage and use. If the ear tips are loose and easily removed or if they appear to have degraded, purchase replacements.
- When reattaching ear tips that were previously removed, be sure to check that they are securely attached. Injury or illness may occur if the eartips become detached and are left inside the ear
About the detachable cable
The cable on the product is detachable. If there are signs of deterioration, replace the cable (sold separately).

Frequently Asked Questions
Audio-Technica These trustworthy workout earbuds from Audio-Technica come with a built-in 4GB audio player and an IPX5 waterproof grade for the active Audio-Technica aficionado.
A well-known company with headphones at more reasonable prices is Audio-Technica. They frequently have less than ideal builds, despite producing sounds that can compete with higher-end models. When compared to other companies offering comparable functionality, their noise canceling series also falls short.
These headphones have a balanced sound character, which makes them the ideal choice for monitoring or mixing in a studio. Additionally, the R70x may give a performance on par with the more expensive Sennheiser 600HD series because of their open-back design, precisely tuned 45mm drivers, and broad 5 – 40,000 Hz frequency response.
The Audio-Technica is not a mixing headphone, and it is not appropriate for mixing due to its acoustic properties. Its frequency response is not flat and its bass is overly powerful.
If your music is in MP3 format, you generally won’t hear much of a difference between wireless and wired headphones in terms of sound quality, but if it is in ALAC/FLAC/WAV format, the differences might be more audible. In general, wired headphones deliver higher sound quality.
The radiation from both Bluetooth and corded headphones is harmless, according to the overwhelming body of scientific evidence.
The device into which wired headphones are plugged provides electricity. In reality, headphones are tiny speakers. When headphones are plugged into a device, an amplifier within the audio jack converts the audio waves from the device into energy, which powers the headphones.
The most common reasons why earphones and earbuds quit working are cable tension, incorrect wiring from the manufacturer, moisture damage, and damage to the sound drivers. These incidents could result in audio shorts or a total disconnect between the drivers and the audio source.
