Bernardo Large Chandelier – Item # CHC 1141

Product Information:

  • This Bernardo Large Chandelier is a light fixture designed for
    installation in accordance with applicable local installation
    codes.
  • It should be installed by a person familiar with its
    construction, operation, and the associated hazards.
  • Before installation, carefully inspect the item and its
    contents. If any damage or defect is found, do not install and
    retain all packaging materials until installation is complete and
    approved.
  • Bulbs are not included with the chandelier.

Tools Required (Not Included):

  • Phillips Screwdriver
  • Slotted Screwdriver
  • Slip Joint Pliers
  • Measuring Tape
  • Wire Strippers
  • Chain Pliers
  • Wire Cutters

Product Usage Instructions:

  1. Carefully remove all parts from the box and place them on a
    clean, soft surface.
  2. Remove collar loop (D) from chain (G) by removing the quick
    link (V).
  3. Install the mounting plate (B) to the junction box using the
    provided mounting screws (C) and secure it.
  4. Secure collar loop (D) to the mounting plate (B) using pliers
    to tighten the locknut.
  5. Install the canopy (E) to collar loop (D) and secure it with
    the collar ring (F).
  6. Determine the desired overall length and amount of chain (G)
    needed. Shorten the chain using chain pliers. Keep the extra
    chain.
  7. Attach the chain (G) to collar loop (D) and fixture loop (W)
    using quick links (V). Secure the quick links (V).
  8. Install fixture arms (U) to the center plate (Y) and secure
    them with washers (J) and lock nuts (K). Ensure the arms are spaced
    evenly before final tightening. Refer to diagram 1.
  9. Connect all neutral wires (ribbed) from three (3) of the
    fixture arms (U) with the jumper wire (ribbed) and fixture neutral
    wire (ribbed). Secure them with a wire nut (I). Repeat this step
    for the remaining three (3) wires on the opposite side of the
    fixture. See diagram 2.
  10. Connect all hot wires (smooth with markings) from three (3) of
    the fixture arms (U) with the jumper wire (smooth with markings)
    and fixture hot wire (smooth with markings). Secure them with a
    wire nut (I). Repeat this step for the remaining three (3) wires on
    the opposite side of the fixture. See diagram 2.
  11. Install the metal bowl (L) to the threaded nipple (S) and
    secure it with the metal ring (M).
  12. Attach rubber washers (N) to either side of the glass bowl (O)
    and install it to the threaded nipple (S). Secure it with the
    finial (Q).
  13. Thread the fixture wire and ground wire through the chain (G).
    When reaching the collar loop (D), ensure there is no tension on
    the wires. Cut excess wires, but leave enough to reach the junction
    box.

Measuring Tape

Chain Pliers Wire Cutters

1. Carefully remove all parts from the box. Place on a clean, soft surface.

2. Remove collar loop (D) from chain (G) by removing quick link (V).

3. Install mounting plate (B) to the junction box and secure with

mounting screws (C).

4. Secure collar loop (D) to mounting plate (B) using pliers to tighten

locknut.

5. Install canopy (E) to collar loop (D) and secure with collar ring (F).

6. Determine desired overall length, and amount of chain (G) needed.

Shorten chain using chain pliers. (Keep extra chain)

7. Attach chain (G) to collar loop (D) and fixture loop (W) using quick

links (V). Secure quick links (V).

8. Install fixture arms (U) to center plate (Y) and secure with

washers (J) and lock nuts (K). (See diagram 1)

NOTE: Check that the arms are spaced evenly before final tightening.

9. Connect all neutral wires (ribbed) from three (3) of the fixture arms (U)

with jumper wire (ribbed) and fixture neutral wire (ribbed), then secure

with wire nut (I). Repeat with remaining three (3) wires on opposite

side of fixture. See diagram 2.

10. Connect all hot wires (smooth with markings) from three (3) of the

fixture arms (U) with jumper wire (smooth with markings) and fixture

hot wire (smooth with markings), then secure with wire nut (I).

Repeat with remaining three (3) wires on opposite side of fixture.

11. Install metal bowl (L) to threaded nipple (S) and secure with metal ring (M).
12. Attach rubber washers (N) to either side of glass bowl (O) and install to threaded nipple (S) and secure with finial (Q).
13. Thread fixture wire and ground wire through chain (G). NOTE: When you reach the collar loop (D), ensure there is no tension on the wires. Cut excess wires, being sure to leave enough to reach the junction box.
14. Separate two sides of molded wire, and strip insulation on each 5/8″. 15. Loosen collar ring (F) and let canopy (E) slip down chain (G) carefully. 16. Twist all fixture wires together. Slip through center hole of collar
loop (D). NOTE: Untwist wires and separate to prepare for connection. 17. Wrap fixture ground wire (bare copper) around the green grounding screw (see diagram 3). Tighten. Continue fixture ground wire and connect to supply ground wire (usually green or bare copper) using wire nut (A). NOTE: It is imperative that the fixture is grounded. 18. Connect fixture neutral wire (ribbed) to the supply neutral wire (usually white) using wire nut (A). 19. Connect fixture hot wire (smooth with markings) to the supply hot wire (usually black) using wire nut (A). CAUTION: Do not reverse the hot and neutral connections. 20. Make sure all wire connections are tight, then carefully tuck into the junction box.

21. Install canopy (E) to collar loop (D) and secure with collar ring (F). 22. Place discs (R) and tubes (X) onto arms (U). 23. Install light bulbs into the sockets.
Care Instructions: Clean only with a soft dry cloth or feather duster. Do Not use abrasive or chemical agents.
