BX4116-S2 High Performance Spa Pump
High Performance Spa Pump – 240V
The BX4116-S2 and BX4117-S2 are high-performance spa pumps that
must be installed by a licensed electrician or qualified spa
technician in accordance with the National Electrical Code and all
applicable local codes & ordinances. Improper installation can
create an electrical hazard and risk of shock, which could result
in injury or death or damage to property, including fire.
It is important to keep the pump out of reach of children to
reduce the risk of injury. Always disconnect power to the pump at
the circuit breaker before servicing the pump or making inspections
to prevent death or serious injury due to electric shock. The pump
must be connected to a grounded circuit, properly bonded, and
protected by a Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) to avoid the
risk of electrical shock.
Pump Wiring
2-Speed Setup
- Turn off power before working on any electrical
connections. - Confirm that the pump circuit voltage matches the pump
(220-240V). - Supply White Wire: connect to Terminal 3.
- Supply Red Wire: connect to Terminal 1 (high speed)*
- Supply Black Wire: connect to Terminal 4 (low speed)*
- Supply Green/Ground Wire: connect with Ground Screw.
*NOTE: Some spas may use Red Wire for Low Speed, and Black Wire
for High Speed. In such cases, simply swap Red and Black wire
terminal positions for correct high & low speed control
operation.

Installation Tips
- Replace failing gasket seals or broken unions.
- Loosen the lowest union slightly after installation to bleed
air and flood/prime new pump, then retighten. - Hand-tighten unions only, without a wrench.
- After installation is complete, operate the spa for a few
minutes and observe for leaks or air locks.
