Product Usage Instructions:

Preparing the Blank:

1. Using PKTRIM8 or 8mm Sleeve and a pen blank squaring jig, trim
   the excess material of the blank on a disc sander. Make sure to
   bring it flush to the ends of the tubes, but do not trim past the
   end of the tube to avoid interference with assembly and mechanism
   operation.
2. Clean the inside of the tube using a barrel trimmer.

Turning the Blank:

1. Attach the mandrel to the headstock of your lathe.
2. Place the end bushing on the mandrel.
3. Mount the blank on the mandrel, ensuring it is securely held in
   place using the knurled nut setup and spacer bushings.
4. Turn the blank to a profile of your choice, keeping in mind not
   to make it too wide to avoid interference with the clip’s
   movement.

Assembly:

1. Refer to Diagram D for the parts layout.
2. Insert the refill into the upper tube.
3. Attach the cap assembly onto the upper tube.
4. Slide the sliding clip onto the lower tube.
5. Attach the spring onto the lower tube.
6. Connect the upper and lower tubes by screwing them together
   using the cap nut mechanism.
7. Ensure all components are securely tightened for proper
   functionality.

Note: Only use the two larger bushings provided with this kit,
not the smaller, shorter one.

By following these instructions, you will be able to assemble
and use your KOLE EDC Click Pen Kit effectively and enjoy its
smooth writing experience.

Preparing the Blank:
· Prior to cutting and gluing, always verify tube length is correct (see parts diagram on back page)
· Cut blank to the length of the tube, adding 1/16″ for squaring off. · Drill 8mm hole lengthwise through the blank. · Spread glue over tube, insert the tube into the blank with a twisting motion
to spread the glue evenly inside. · Center the tube lengthwise inside the blank. · When the glue is dry, square the ends of the blanks, making sure the trimmed ends are 90º to the tube. Use
PKTRIM8 or 8mm Sleeve and a pen blank squaring jig on a disc sander. Take the excess material down flush to the ends of the tubes. Do not trim past the end of the tube since this may interfere with assembly and the operation of the mechanism. Use a barrel trimmer to clean the inside of the tube.

Turning the Blank:
· Mount the bushings and blanks according to diagram B.

· When using Mandrel Saver, there is no need for extra spacer bushings or the the threads

knurled nut. Slide and lock tailstock directly against bushings and tighten quill

until blank and bushings are secure.

· To Used Knurled Nut setup (right), add spacer bushings unitl past the threads

on the end of the Mandrel Shaft.

· Thread on the Knurled Nut and hand tighten to hold all components in place.

· Slide the Tailstock up snugly against the Mandrel shaft, inserting the live center point into the Mandrel dimple. .

· Lock Tailstock and hand tighten the quill adjustment with wheel to steady

the mandrel. Do not over-tighten, it could damage mandrel shaft.

· Using sharp tools, turn the blank down close to the bushing diameter.

Turn the barrel straight or to a profile of your choice. Keep in mind that

the clip has to be able to slide freely to activate the mechanism, so

avoid extreme shapes on top half of the barrel.

· Sand the blank down to be flush with the bushings, gradually increasing sandpaper grits.
· Finish the barrel using your choice of polish. Allow sufficient time for the polish to cure–refer to polish instructions.

Only use the two(2) larger bushings for this kit – not the smaller, shorter one

Assembly:
· Press Cap nut, reduced diameter first, into upper end of Barrel. · Press Grip Coupler into open, opposite end of the Barrel. · Thread Mechanism into the bottom of Cap Assembly. · Thread Cap Assembly into the Cap Nut. · Refill Extender should be in the back of the refill. · Slide Refill, back end first into the opening in the Grip Coupler. · Place Spring over Refill tip. · Thread Tip over the Refill and into the Grip Coupler. · To extend and retract refill, slide the clip down until the mechanism clicks. · To Change Refill, unthread tip and replace with new Refill. Remember to Switch Spring to new Refill.
