Step 1
MAKE SURE YOUR UNIT IS LEVEL TO ENSURE ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS.
THRESHOLD
Make sure the rise of your threshold is between 5/8″ and 3/4″. If it is greater or less than either of these measurements, the door may not close properly.
Step 2
HINGE PLATE
You must have a gap of 3/8″ from the bottom of your entry and screen doors to the top of the threshold to allow room for the hinge plate. Without this clearance, your door will not have sufficient room to close while the steps are down.
If your unit doesn’t meet the specifications in STEP 1 or STEP 2, modifications WILL NEED to be made. Please call the MORryde sales department for further assistance. 574-293-1581
OTHER ITEMS TO CONSIDER…

| If there is trim on the back side of the door jamb that protrudes, it will interfere with the latch on the step. The trim will need to be notched 1/4″ – 1/2″ to accommodate the latch. | If the door has a strut that prevents it from opening all the way, the step will hit the door. The strut must be removed for proper step installation. | There must be at least 9″ of clearance on the inside of the doorway for the StepAbove to be able to fold up correctly |
Step 3
STEP HEIGHT
Find your step height by measuring from the top of the threshold to the ground.
Step 4
DOOR WIDTH
Find your door width on the factory label located on the side or edge of the door.
If there is no label, measure inside at the base of the door from flange to flange and refer to the Fit Chart for the door width. Keep in mind that the flange to flange measurement needed is the narrowest part of the entry door.

| The skirting below the threshold cannot stick out more than 3/4″. | If there is anything on the left side of the entrance of your door within 33″, you will need to remove the handrail before stowing the steps. |
AFTERMARKET ACCESSORIES
Aftermarket accessories such as a storm door or a grab handle could cause interference with the step and may need to be removed or altered for proper installation of the StepAbove.
