About this guide
This guide provides instructions for mounting the welding mandrel (part number FB-6041).
1.1 Safety instructions
Follow these guidelines to ensure safe use and extend the life of the product.
CAUTION
- Read this document before using the product and keep it during the entire service life.
- The product must be suitable for the corresponding applications and environmental conditions without any restrictions.
- Only use the product for its intended purpose.
- If the operating instructions or the technical data are not adhered to, personal injury and/or damage to property might occur.
- The manufacturer assumes no liability or warranty for any consequences caused by tampering with the product or incorrect use by the operator.
- Installation, electrical connection, set-up, operation, and maintenance of the product must be carried out by qualified personnel.
Mount the welding mandrel
The welding mandrel absorbs heat and can prevent warping during the installation of the weld-in adapter.
Prerequisites CAUTION
While welding, the weld-in adapter and mandrel can get extremely hot. To prevent burns, allow the components to cool before disassembling the weld-in adapter and mandrel assembly.
Procedure
- Hand-tighten the weld-in adapter.
- Insert the bolt through the mandrel opening.
- Mount the counter plate.
- Tighten the nut.
Post requisites
- Weld the weld-in adapter according to instructions found in the Rosemount Hygienic Process Connection Adapter Quick Start Guide for Weld-in adapters™.
- Allow the weld and mandrel components to cool, then remove the mandrel components from the weld-in adapter.
