Orion Fc/fe Temperature Switches Instructions

FC/FE Temperature Switches

Product Information: Product Name: FC/FE Temperature Switches
Product Model: FC Bulletin No.: KA220407 Product Type: Flameproof
pressure switch Certifications: ATEx, IECEx & PESO approved
(for FC model), PESO approved (for FE model) IP Rating: IP66
Working Temperature: Up to 150.0°C (302°F) Cable Entry Options: 1/2
NPT(F) or 1/2 NPT(M) Range Selection Table: – Range Code T1H: 25 to
90°C (77 to 194°F), Differential: 15.0°C (59°F), Maximum Working
Temperature: 150.0°C (302°F) – Range Code T2H: 70 to 150°C (158 to
302°F), Differential: 20.0°C (68°F), Maximum Working Temperature:
200.0°C (392°F) – Range Code T3H: 120 to 215°C (248 to 419°F),
Differential: 30.0°C (86°F), Maximum Working Temperature: 300.0°C
(572°F) Note: – The differential values mentioned in the table are
approximate maximum for FSR. The actual differential value may vary
according to the pressure range selected and microswitch type. –
When using 2SPDT switching arrangement, there may be a small stage
gap of up to +/- 5% FSR. The On-Off differential (hysteresis) tends
to be at least double of those published for 1SPDT pressure
switches. – If actuation and/or deactuation at the same point is
critical, a separate DPDT relay with a separate power supply for
its coil can be used. How to Order Flameproof Temperature Switches:
To order the FC/FE Temperature Switches, follow the instructions
below: Group 1: Non-standard allocation (to be given by the
manufacturer) Group 2: Model (FC or FE) Group 3: Cable Entry Size
(3 for Al. head M20 x 1.5 threads, *6 for Grey CI head M20 x 1.5
threads, 9 for SS head M20 x 1.5 threads) Group 4: Switch Type (T1
for fixed differential without scale, T2 for fixed differential
with scale in °C) Group 5: Range Code (T1H for 25-90°C, T2H for
70-150°C, T3H for 120-215°C) Group 6: Microswitch Type (A1 for
general purpose microswitch, B1 for brass microswitch with
adjustable deadband, A8 for general purpose microswitch with
adjustable differential, C6 for 1SPDT adjustable differential)
Group 7: Temp. Bulb Material/Size (A1 for general purpose, B1 or B2
for brass, *A6 or *A7 for adjustable elements, S3 for SS316) Group
8: Capillary Material/Size (123 for SS316, 2.0 meter) Please refer
to pages 120 and 121 of the manual for options and specifications
of microswitches. Product Usage Instructions: 1. Installation: –
Refer to the installation drawing provided in the user manual. –
Ensure that the cable entry size matches the requirements of your
setup. – Follow the appropriate installation procedure based on the
cable entry type selected. 2. Temperature Range Selection: –
Determine the desired temperature range based on your application
requirements. – Refer to the Range Selection Table in the user
manual to find the corresponding Range Code. – Note the
differential value and maximum working temperature for the selected
range code. 3. Microswitch Type Selection: – Choose the appropriate
microswitch type based on your needs: – A1: General purpose
microswitch – B1 or B2: Brass microswitch with adjustable deadband
– A8: General purpose microswitch with adjustable differential –
C6: 1SPDT adjustable differential 4. Optional Configurations: – If
actuation and/or deactuation at the same point is critical,
consider using a separate DPDT relay with a separate power supply
for its coil. 5. Ordering Process: – Use the provided ordering
format to specify the required details for each group. – Contact
the sales office for additional information or any non-standard
options not covered in the user manual. Note: It is recommended to
consult the user manual for further instructions and specifications
specific to your application.

Note:
1. The minimum differential increases with the setpoint. The differential values mentioned in the above table are approximate maximum for FSR. The differential value will vary according to the pressure range selected and microswitch type. For actual values of differential please contact sales office.
2. When using 2SPDT switching arrangement, both microswitches may not actuate and/or deactuate at the same point. A small stage gap, normally upto +/- 5% FSR (depending on range code) may be observed. The On-Off differential (hysterisis) typically tends to be atleast double of those published for 1SPDT pressure switches.
If actuation and/or deactuation at same point is critical part of operation, then it can be achieved by using a separate DPDT relay. This relay will need a separate power supply for it’s coil.
