SCHLAGE ND Series Electrified Cylindrical Lock

IMPORTANT: DO NOT insert key in outside cylinder (if applicable) before or during these steps!
NOTICE
FAILURE TO PROPERLY TIME THE LOCK WILL RESULT IN IMPROPER FUNCTION, AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LOCK.

Tools Needed

• Step 1
  • Install Lock
    EXCEPT INSIDE LEVER
    ND60 (including XN12-001), ND66, ND75, ND78 ND93, ND95, ND98
  • Install Lock
    EXCEPT OUTSIDE LEVER
    ND70, ND25x70, ND70x80, ND73, ND81, ND94, ND97
  • Install Lock
    EXCEPT BOTH LEVERS
    ND72 (including XN12-002 and XN12-003)
• Step 2
  • From INSIDE, rotate key cam CCW until it stops.

• Step 4
  Install Cylinder and Lever
  With key rotated 90° clockwise, press lever onto lever post.

  
  For IC Cylinders:
  Align cylinder tailpiece blade and keyway.

  
  Turn the key 15° and hold.

  
  Then, insert assembly into lever.

• Step 5
  Check Operation
  See chart below for correct key rotation.

  ND66 ND72* ND75 ND95	INSIDE rotates 360° to lock and unlock. OUTSIDE rotates 360° to lock and unlock.
  ND78 ND98	INSIDE and OUTSIDE rotate 180° and back. CW to unlock. CCW to lock.
  ND60 ND93	INSIDE rotates 360° to lock and unlock. OUTSIDE rotates to retract latch.
  ND70 ND25X70 ND70X80 ND94	OUTSIDE rotates 360° to lock and unlock.
  ND81	OUTSIDE rotates 90° CCW to retract latch OUTSIDE rotates 180° CW to allow lever to retract latch.
  ND73 ND97	OUTSIDE rotates 360° to lock and unlock. When OUTSIDE is locked by push button, OUTSIDE key should rotate 45° to unlock.

  ND72* : Follow steps 2-5 to time inside lever, then continue to step 6.

  

• Step 6
  Troubleshooting
  If your lock does not allow you to remove key, remove keyed lever, rotate key 180° and reinstall.
  Remove Keyed Lever

  To remove a keyed lever, rotate key 90°.

  Insert pin wrench and push against lever catch. Pull off the lever.
