Product Information: THV 3.0 Vibraphone
The THV 3.0 Vibraphone is a musical instrument designed for

Product Usage Instructions
Setup
2.1 Assembling the frame
- Place the wide upper part (1) on the wide lower part with the
long guide pin (2) and tighten the wing screws. - Place the narrow upper part (3) on the narrow lower part with
the short guide pin (4) and tighten the wing screws. - Pull the cotter pin (5) out of the slot for the centre rod (6)
of the wide and narrow base. - Insert the centre rod (6) into the slot of the wide base (2).
Pay attention to the markings (red dots) on the centre rod and the
mount. - Attach the centre post brace to the lower cross brace of the
wide base (2) as shown and reinstall the cotter pin. - Proceed in the same way for the narrow lower part (4). Note
that there are no markings (red dots) here. - Loosen the pedal rod thumbscrew (7) and insert the pedal rod
into the slot in the wide base (2) as shown. - Push the right end of the pedal rod (7) toward the wide base
(2) until you feel spring resistance, and insert the pedal rod (7)
into the slot of the narrow base (4). Tighten the wing screw.
2.2 Inserting the motor
- Hang the drive belt (8) on the motor unit (9) as shown. The
drive belt hangs loosely on the motor unit and is only tensioned
when the resonators are installed. - Hook in the motor unit (9) with the drive belt on the control
unit (10) of the narrow upper part (3) as shown. - Connect the motor unit cable (11) to the control unit connector
(12).
2.3 Inserting bars and hanging in resonators
- Place the pre-assembled unit consisting of bar 2 (13) and bar 3
(14) in the mounts provided on the upper parts (1, 3). When
inserting, make sure that the numbers on the bars and mounts of the
upper parts match. - Hang the whole-tone resonator (15, closed tubes) between mounts
‘3’ and ‘4’ of the upper parts (1, 3) as shown. - Hang the semitone resonator (16, open tubes) between mounts ‘1’
and ‘2’ of the upper parts (1, 3) as shown. - Tighten the drive belt (8) around the motor drive shaft (17)
and the two resonator drive shafts (18) as shown. - Place bar 1 (19) and bar 4 (20) into the mounts provided on the
upper parts (1, 3). When inserting, make sure that the numbers on
the bars and mounts of the upper parts match.
2.4 Damper mounting
- Loosen the thumbscrew from the damper beam (21) and remove the
thumbscrew, knurled nut, and felt washer. - Place the damper beam (21) with the spring on the mounting
plate provided between bar 2 (13) and bar 3 (14). - Align the connecting arms (22) so that they point towards the
semitone resonator (16, open tubes). - Reattach the felt washer, knurled nut, and thumbscrew to the
damper beam (21) from below. Tighten the thumbscrew and tension the
spring slightly, using the thumbscrew as a counter.

DANGER! Danger for children Ensure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are disposed of properly and are not within reach of babies and young children. Choking hazard! Ensure that children do not detach any small parts (e.g. knobs or the like) from the unit. They could swallow the pieces and choke! Never let children unattended use electrical devices. DANGER! Electric shock caused by short-circuit Do not modify the mains cable or the plug. Failure to do so could result in electric shock/death or fire. If in doubt, seek advice from a registered electrician. DANGER! Electric shock caused by high voltages inside Within the device there are areas where high voltages may be present. Completely disconnect the device from the power supply before you open or remove covers. Mount all covers and attach them firmly before connecting the device again. Do not use the device if covers, protectors or optical components are missing or damaged. CAUTION! Risk of injury due to heavy weight Due to the heavy weight of the device, at least two persons are required for transport and installation. CAUTION! Risk of injury to the hands When assembling and screwing the individual parts, pay attention to sharp edges on tools, screws and components. NOTICE! Operating conditions This device has been designed for indoor use only. To prevent damage, never expose the device to any liquid or moisture. Avoid direct sunlight, heavy dirt, and strong vibrations. Only operate the device within the ambient conditions specified in the chapter `Technical specifications’ of this user manual. Avoid heavy temperature fluctuations and do not switch the device on immediately after it was exposed to temperature fluctuations (for example after transport at low outside temperatures). Dust and dirt inside can damage the unit. When operated in harmful ambient conditions (dust, smoke, nicotine, fog, etc.), the unit should be main- tained by qualified service personnel at regular intervals to prevent overheating and other malfunction. NOTICE! Possible staining The plasticiser contained in the rubber feet of this product may possibly react with the coating of your surface and after some time cause permanent dark stains. In case of doubt, do not put the rubber feet directly on the surface and use a suitable underlay if necessary, i.e. felt pads or similar.

2.1 Assembling the frame

Place the wide upper part (1) on the wide lower part with the long guide pin (2) and tighten the wing screws.

Pull the cotter pin (5) out of the slot for the centre rod (6) of the wide and narrow
base.

Insert the centre rod (6) into the slot of the wide base (2). Pay attention to the mark-

Proceed in the same way for the narrow lower part (4). Note that there are no mark- ings (red dots) here.
Loosen the pedal rod thumbscrew (7) and insert the pedal rod into the slot in the wide base (2) as shown.
Push the right end of the pedal rod (7) toward the wide base (2) until you feel spring resistance, and insert the pedal rod (7) into the slot of the narrow base (4). Tighten the wing screw.

Loosen the thumbscrew from the damper beam (21) and remove the thumbscrew, knurled nut and felt washer.
Place the damper beam (21) with the spring on the mounting plate provided between bar 2 (13) and bar 3 (14). Align the connecting arms (22) so that they point towards the semitone resonator (16, open tubes). Reattach the felt washer, knurled nut, and thumbscrew to the damper beam (21) from below. Tighten the thumbscrew and tension the spring slightly, using the thumbscrew as a counter.

Press the connecting arms (22) together slightly and attach them to the mounts pro-
vided on the upper parts (1, 3).

The mounts are located between bar 1 (19) and bar 2 (13) on the wide upper part (1)

and on bar 1 (19) on the side of the narrow upper part (3).

Hook the pedal pull rod (23) to the eyelet on the underside of the damper beam (21). Lock the pedal pull rod using the double bell.

Hook the pedal pull rod (23) into the mount on the pedal rod (7) as shown.
2.5 Installing sound plates 9

Place the semitone sound plates (24) on bars 1 (19) and 2 (13). Thread the cord of the sound plates around the end pegs (26) and install each sound plate between the pegs of the bars.
Then place the whole-tone sound plates (25) on bars 3 (14) and 4 (20). Thread the cord of the sound plates around the end pegs (26) and install each sound plate between the pegs of the bars.
Connect the tension springs together at the end of the cord.

Pay attention to the different cord guide of the hook peg (27) and the saddle peg
(28).

For the transport and protective packaging, environmentally friendly materials have been chosen that can be supplied to normal recycling.
Ensure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are properly disposed of.
Do not just dispose of these materials with your normal household waste, but make sure that they are collected for recycling. Please follow the notes and markings on the packaging.
