Product Information

Leviton Decora Edge devices are electrical outlets and switches that have a slim profile design with a square shape. They are available in various colors and finishes to match any home décor. The Decora Edge devices utilize a screw clamp terminal for easy installation and have a voltage rating of 125VAC.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before installation, turn off the power supply to the electrical box where the Decora Edge device will be installed.
  2. Remove the old device from the electrical box and disconnect the wires from the old device.
  3. Connect the wires to the Decora Edge device screw clamp terminals.
  4. Ensure that the wires are tightly secured to the screw clamp terminals.
  5. Carefully insert the Decora Edge device into the electrical box and attach it using the provided screws.
  6. Turn on the power supply to the electrical box and test the Decora Edge device.
  7. If you need to rewire the Decora Edge device for future applications, repeat steps 1 through 6.

What are Leviton Decora Edge devices?

• Decora Edge is an innovative wiring device featuring easy termination for a faster, safer installation. Decora Edge presently includes a single pole switch, a 3-Way switch and a 15-amp duplex receptacle (NEMA 5-15R).

What termination is used for Decora Edge?

Spring Action Clamp• A unique and patent-pending Spring Action Clamp terminal, where the stripped end of a conductor is inserted into the terminal and a manually operated integral lever applies clamping pressure to a spring mechanism, without the use of screws.
• The spring action clamp is NOT to be confused with Quickwire™ push-in (stab) or back-wire clamp terminations.

What wires can be used?

• Lever connectors work with both 14 gauge and 12 gauge stranded and solid copper wire only, no aluminum or copper clad wire.

Can Decora Edge devices be rewired if needed for future applications?

• Yes, one advantage of Decora Edge devices is that they can be removed and terminated again.

Are Decora Edge devices NEC® compliant?

• Yes, Decora Edge is compliant with the National Electrical Code® (NEC).
