SAFETY INFORMATION

Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate or install the product.

PREPARATION,
Before beginning installation of product, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package contents list.
If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble, install or operate the product.
ESTIMATED ASSEMBLY TIME: 40 – 60 MINUTES

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
THE FOLLOWING CARE INSTRUCTIONS SHOULD BE FOLLOWED TO ENSURE A LONG LASTING FINISH:

1. Remove locks, or do not install locks, prior to painting your door.
2. Periodically clean with mild soap and a soft cloth only. Do not use abrasives or harsh chemicals and avoid sharp objects.

TOOLS NEEDED (NOT INCLUDED)

ADJUSTABLE LATCH BACKSET

1. Determine if the latch needs to be adjusted to the 2-3/4″ (70 mm) backset. To adjust, rotate the latch until it stops. Reverse the direction to return to the 2-3/8″ (60 mm) backset.CHANGE LATCH FACE
2. Determine which latch mounting method will be used and make necessary adjustments. No adjustment required for square latch face plate. a. Use a flat screwdriver to separate the face plate. b. Snap selected latch face onto back plate.
   

   DRIVE-IN INSTALLATION

3. Remove original latch faceplate. Align the drive-in sleeve as illustrated and snap into the latch case.PREPARE DOOR AND CHECK DIMENSIONS
4. Use template enclosed to mark holes on door face.
   Drill 2-1/8″ (54 mm) holes from both sides of door.
   Drill 1″ (25.4 mm) holes in door edge for latches.INSTALL LATCH
5. Insert latch in hole and keep it parallel to door face. Mark outline of face plate and remove latch.
6. Chisel 5/32″ (4 mm) deep inside traced outline or until face plate is flush with door edge.
7. Insert latch and tighten screw.
8. For drive in latch, drill 1″ (25.4 mm) hole and press latch until it is flush with door edge.
   INSTALL STRIKE
9. Close the door so the latchbolt is against the door frame.
10. Measure one half of door thickness from door stop and vertically mark center line of strike.
    Drill 1″ (25.4 mm) hole, 1″ (25.4 mm) deep at intersection of horizontal and vertical line of strike. Mark outline using strike plate and chisel 5/64″ (2 mm) deep for strike.
11. Install strike and tighten screws.
    

    INSTALL KEYPAD ASSEMBLY

12. Pass the IC wire under the latch to the interior side of the door, and insert the tailpiece through crank of the latch.INSTALL INSIDE MOUNTING PLATE
13. Pass the IC wire through the wire hole of the mounting plate. Fix the mounting plate with screws. If outside lock assembly is lopsided, please loosen the screws to adjust its position and tighten the screws again.IDENTIFY DOOR HANDING
14. Face the door from the outside. The door is left-handed if the hinges are on the left side of the door, whereas the door is right-handed if the hinges are on the right side of the door.ADJUST THUMB TURN PIECE
15. Rotate the thumb turn piece to the LEFT 45° for right-handed doors. Rotate the thumb turn piece to the RIGHT 45° for left-handed doors.INSTALL INTERIOR ASSEMBLY
16. To remove battery cover, first push up on the cover.
17. Align the colored edges of the connectors and ensure a tight cable connection.
18. Make sure the torque blade is still in the horizontal position and install the interior assembly. Test the tumpiece for smooth rotation.
19. Secure the interior assembly with the supplied screws.
    INSERT BATTERIES
20. Insert 4 (AA) 1.5 V alkaline batteries.
21. Battery cover and make sure the latch is still in the unlocked position.
