Product Information: GFRC Concrete Worktop Premix Kit
The GFRC Concrete Worktop Premix Kit is a complete package that
allows you to create self-compacting concrete mixes for worktops.
It includes all the necessary components, such as the base mix,
superplasticizer, glass fibers, and powdered dye (except for
Off-White). This kit is designed for use with a forced action mixer
or paddle mixer and a suitable mixing vessel.
Equipment Required:
- Forced Action Mixer or Paddle Mixer
- Suitably sized mixing vessel (40-50Litre Builders Tub
recommended) - Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) listed below
- Bucket trowel or similar
- Clean bucket to weigh out water
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
- Gloves or Nitrile Gauntlets
- Eye Protection (goggles or glasses)
- Disposable Overalls
- FFP3 Dust Mask
What Is In The Box?
Each kit contains:
- 1 bag of Base Mix
- 1 pouch of Superplasticizer
- 1 pouch of Glass Fibres
- 1 pouch of Powdered Dye (except for Off-White)
Product Usage Instructions:
- Empty the contents of the base mix into your mixer or mixing
vessel. DO NOT ADD THE FIBRES. - Weigh out 3.12Kg or 3.12 litres of water.
- Mix the dry powdered ingredients without adding the water. DO
THIS ON A SLOW SETTING to reduce dust dispersion. Mix for 2
minutes. - Add approximately 2.5 litres (approx 4/5ths) of the water.
- Mix for 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes of mixing, check the consistency of the mix.
Signs that the mix is ready are as follows:- Air is bubbling up through the mix and bubbles are popping at
the surface. - When a trowel is run through the mix, the mix self-levels and
closes up within seconds.

- Add more water in small quantities as necessary until the
desired consistency is reached. - Take a small portion of the mix to pour into the mold for a
fiber-free facecoat. Spread this evenly over the base of the mold.
For 0.6 square meters of concrete worktop (1 bag mix), this equates
to 4.7kg of mix at a thickness of 4mm. - Once the face coat is complete, add the Fibres to the remaining
mix and mix on a slow speed setting for as little time as necessary
to ensure they are dispersed evenly throughout the mix. This should
be no more than 2 minutes. - Pour the mix carefully over the facecoat already applied and
proceed according to the Basic Concrete Casting Instructions PDF
