RAIN HARVESTING RHSTR01 Leaf Eater Stream with The Hood - HOW IT WORKS

LEAF EATER STREAM WITH THE HOOD INSTALLATION

RAIN HARVESTING RHSTR01 Leaf Eater Stream with The Hood - HOOD INSTALLATION

  1. Locate the position at which you want to install your Leaf Eater Stream rain head. This may be directly under your gutter/eave or mid-way down your vertical downpipes.
Wherever you choose to install it, your Leaf Eater Stream rain head must be a minimum of 500mm above your tank inlet and tank overflow pipe. Also note that if you’re installing a Leaf Eater Stream with The Hood, you will need to choose an installation location that allows you to perform more frequent maintenance.
  2. Cut your downpipe where you want the bottom outlet of the Leaf Eater Stream rain head to sit. Cut the upper section of pipe about 300mm above the first cut (Figure 1). Ensure all cut edges are clean and smooth.
  3. Remove the cover from your Leaf Eater Stream and slide it up the top pipe, holding it in position (Figure 2).
  4. With the other hand, fit the Leaf Eater Stream body onto the lower section of pipe, ensuring the outlet is seated firmly into position (Figure 3).
  5. Slide the cover back down the top pipe and lower the bottom skirt into the corresponding channel between the screen and body (Figure 4).
  6. If desired, you can paint your rain head to match your downpipes and/or building.

MAINTENANCE

Occasionally your Leaf Eater Stream will require occasional maintenance.
Simply slide the cover up your inlet pipe to access the mesh screen. You can either keep the screen in place and brush off the debris, or remove the screen entirely to clean it more thoroughly.
After cleaning, replace the screen into the body, making sure the it is evenly seated.
Replace your Hood Cover by sliding it up your inlet pipe and lowering into position so that the lower skirt sits in the gap between the screen and the body.
