What to do if the device doesn’t fit in the J-box

Note: A 101.6 mm x 101.6 mm (4 in x 4 in) junction box with a minimum depth of 53.97 mm (2.125 in) is required.
This section applies to all 4 model numbers shown above.

LUTRON Vive PowPak 347 V - box 1

Option A: Turn device 90, 180, or 270 degrees or, relocate conduit hardware to a different knockout.

LUTRON Vive PowPak 347 V - box 2

Option B: Add a 101.6 mm x 101.6 mm (4 in x 4 in) junction box extension ring (e.g., Raco p/n 201), or replace with a deeper junction box (e.g., Garvin p/n 52181-S).

LUTRON Vive PowPak 347 V - box 3

Option C: Use a 119 mm x 119 mm x 54 mm (4 11/16 in x 4 11/16 in x 2 1/8 in) junction box (e.g., Raco p/n 258), plus adaptor to convert to 101.6 mm x 101.6 mm (4 in x 4 in) (e.g., Raco p/n 855 or 859).
Not for use with 5T-347-DIVIDER.

Options for providing separation between Class 1 and Class 2 drivers (if required by local codes)– applies to RMJS-5T-347 and RMJS-5T-347-EM the only

a. Eliminate the “Class 2” markings on the driver.
b. Use a power and signal cable (for example, Romex® Simpull® NM-B-PCS-DUOT) which contains Class 1 and Class 2 wires in the same cable.

c. Use junction box divider (Lutron model number 5T-347-DIVIDER). In this case, it is recommended, to facilitate installation, that the dimming module with divider be mounted in a separate junction box (see Step D above).
This divider can support the following depths of mounting box configurations by breaking off sections along the score lines as noted:
– 53.975 mm (2.125 in)
• Standard 101.6 mm x 101.6 mm (4 in x 4 in) junction box depth
– 76.2 mm (3.0 in)
• Standard 38.1 mm (1.5 in) deep 101.6 mm x 101.6 mm (4 in x 4 in) junction box plus 38.1 mm (1.5 in) deep extension ring
– 92.075 mm (3.625 in)
• Standard 53.975 mm (2.125 in) deep junction box plus 38.1 mm (1.5 in) deep extension ring

Why does this product have pink and violet wires for 0-10 V- instead of the gray and violet to which I’m accustomed?

a. This product conforms to NEC® 2020 code, Article 410.69 says only the neutral wire can be gray.
Note: Some installations will still have a gray wire or connector.

Electronic Off (applies to RMJS-5T-347 and RMJS-5T-347-EM only)

Electronic Off affects how the lights are turned Off. If enabled, the driver remains powered, but the lights turn Off.
This requires that the driver supports this method of control. If disabled, the driver has power removed every time the lights are turned Off. All drivers support this method of control.
Which do I want?

  • If your load is not performing as expected, choosing “Electronic Off – Enabled” may help.
  • If you want a faster load response, choosing “Electronic Off – Enabled” may help.
  • If your load is performing fine, choose “Electronic Off – Disabled.”

Changing the Electronic Off:

a. Press and hold the Toggle and Raise buttons simultaneously for about 12 seconds until the indicator LED begins to flash (about twice per second). The connected load will flash twice from high-end to low-end, then restore to either high-end or Off depending on the current setting.
b. Pressing the Raise button enables Electronic Off, pressing the Lower button disables Electronic Off.
c. Press and hold the Toggle button for 6 seconds to lock your selection.

347 V~ wallbox: Pico adapter

347 V~ wall boxes have a different mounting hole pitch of 89.687 mm (3.531 in) than traditional US-style boxes
83.337 mm (3.281 in). Use Lutron model number PICO-347WBX-ADAP for this situation (rather than PICO-WBX-ADAPT).

LUTRON Vive PowPak 347 V - 347 V2

A 347 V~ wallplate (not supplied by Lutron) will be required (for example, Hubbell® HPS1347W).

Dimming vs. Switching Modules

RMJS-5T-347 and RMJS-5T-347-EM are used for 347 V~ dimming loads with 0-10 V- control.
RMJS-5R-347 and RMJS-5R-347-EM are used for 347 V~ switching loads.
Note that using RMJS-5T-347 or RMJS-5T-347-EM for non-dim loads is not recommended as it may cause undesired behavior.
