These Theater Solutions 2-way weatherproof 6.5″ rock speakers are manufactured from high-tech plastics, rubber and other materials that have been extensively tested for durability. These multi-layer composite cabinets with rust resistant steel grills are weatherproof against rain, snow, salt, ice, pool chemicals and more. The 6.5 inch 8 ohm woofers have butyl rubber surrounds with poly-mica cones and ferro-fluid cooled soft dome tweeters. These Theater Solutions rock speakers are “voiced” for outdoor performances. Their sound is contoured to provide the best performance in open air environments. They blend perfectly with other Theater Solutions outdoor speakers. The drivers are angled upwards 20 degrees in the enclosure to deliver great sound when placed at ground level.
WIRING THE SPEAKERS
Please turn off and unplug your system prior to making any connections. To wire your system, use good quality speaker cable with polarity coding (usually identified with a marking on the cable). You must select wire that is suited for outdoor usage(look for wire that is rated for burial). Use 16 gauge speaker wire for up to 40ft and 14 gauge speaker wire for more than 40 ft. Connect the positive lead of the speaker wire (indicated with”+”) to the red(+) speaker terminal. Connect the negative lead of the speaker wire to the black(-) speaker terminal. Connect the other end of the speaker wire to the respective inputs on the amplifier. See diagram below.
LISTENING TEST
Once you have connected your speakers, turn on your system and begin playback of material you are familiar with. Begin at low volume and increase to a comfortable listening level. The system should sound balanced with stereo sound. If the sound is distorted, check to make sure that the speakers have been correctly wired to your amplifier or receiver.
