The Molift RgoSling Repositioning Sheet and related accessories described in this operator manual are CE marked in accordance with EU Council Directive MDR (EU) 2017/745 concerning medical devices, class 1, and has been tested and approved by a third party according to standard EN ISO 10535:2006.
Conditions for Use: Lift and transfer of a person will always pose a certain risk and only trained personnel are allowed to use the equipment and accessories covered by this user manual.

General Safety Precautions: Molift RgoSling Repositioning Sheet is designed to be used with either a 2pt, 4pt or 8pt sling bar with metal hooks size medium or larger. Generally, a 2pt sling bar is considered optimal for repositioning while a 4pt / 8pt sling bar is considered optimal for lifting. The Repositioning Sheet is made for transfers in bed or between bed and strecher. Make a decision on whether one or more carers are required. Plan the lifting operation in advance to ensure that it is as safe and smooth as possible.
Remember to work ergonomically.
Assess the risk and take notes.
You as the carer are responsible for the safety of the user! Molift slings shall only be used to lift persons.
Never use the sling to lift or move objects of any kind. If maximum load (SWL) differs between hoist, sling bar and body support unit, then the lowest maximum load shall always be used.
The sling should not be stored in direct sunlight.

About RgoSling Repositioning Sheet
Etac supplies a wide selection of slings for different types of transfers. Molift RgoSling Repositioning Sheet is suitable for users that require a high level of support with transfer within and around the bed.
The sling is designed for use with overhead lift systems and is used for lifting or repositioning in supine, lateral transfer or in connection with change of linen. The sling is used for positioning up towards head of bed/ stretcher or exam /diagnostic/imaging table side to side transfers, centering in bed, turning user to sidelying or rolling user sideways and turning user for pressure relief. The sling can be used to lift a patient from floor to bed/stretcher. The sling has five straps on each side. The straps have several length options to be able to adapt for the needs of the individual user when transferring in different situations. RgoSling Repositioning Sheet covers the full length of the user. Molift RgoSling Repositioning Sheet is made of Polyester and is approved for users with weight up to 500 kg. Expected Lifetime:
The product has an expected life cycle of 1-5 years under normal use. The service life of the product varies depending on usage frequency, materials, loads and how often it is washed. Washing at higher temperatures wears out the material faster.
Lifting Strap Ladder loops
The ladder loops on lifting band gives different options for mounting sling to the sling bar. Use the ladder that makes sling most comfortable for the user. The ladder loops on the straps has different colours so strap can easily be fastened with equal length on left and right side.
Before use / Daily check Before using sling for first time it should be marked with the date of first time use on periodic inspection label.
Inspection to be performed daily or before use:
- Make sure user has the required ability for the sling
- Make sure the sling suitable for the lift/sling bar to be used.
- Make sure sling does not have visible damage or frays.
Sling checkpoints
- Straps on left & right side are levelling equal.
- User’s head is in a correct position.
- User has a comfortable supine positon in the sling.

Molift Repositioning Sheet works with any 2 pt spreader bar with metal hooks.
Molift Repositioning Sheet should only be combined with spreader bars from other suppliers after a risk assessment is performed.
Positioning of the sling
- Sling positioned in the bed. Know proper placement of sling under the user, make sure head, shoulders, pelvis, and legs are supported by sling. Top of sling should be at top of head and bottom of sling is at the user’s feet. Insert pillow under user’s head and shoulders for added support and head comfort.
Tuck straps under the mattress when they are not in use to avoid trip hazards Never use a faulty or damaged sling as it can break and cause personal injury. Destroy and discard damaged and old slings
Transfers: Bed <–> strecher and repositioning in bed
- Hook middle four straps (#2 and #3 straps) first, using same color loops on right and left side for #2 and #3 respectively. Raise sling just enough to remove slack in the straps to confirm loops are safely strapped on sling bar hooks.
- Hook knee and foot end straps (#4 and #5). Again raise enough to remove slack in straps to confirm loop placement. When using the product with the 8-point sling bar, use one unique hook for the head and middle straps (#1, #2 and #3) and hook knee and foot end straps (#4 and #5) to the fourth, bottom hook of the sling bar.
- Hook head straps (#1) by extending them out just enough to remove slack and apply the loop that best reaches the sling bar hook without flexing the user’s head forward.
- Lower Siderails and bring two transfer surfaces together before lifting user out of bed. Make sure there are no gaps between the transfer surfaces.
- One staff member should be at the foot end of user to support ankles or feet when user is in the air. Raise the user to the desired clearance off of surface. Move the user in the desired direction in bed/surface if repositioning, centering, etc. or move user off of surface to the desired surface such as bed to stretcher etc. Lower user, unhook straps, and tuck straps under mattress in to prevent staff and user tripping over. To reposition user up in bed use the same hook technique.
Never leave a user unattended in a lifting situation. The hoist shall not be used to lift or move users on sloping surfaces.
Turning user
If using the 4-point sling bar to turn a user it is critical that you attach the sling diagonally on each side of the centre point. Do not attach the sling on only one side of the sling bar. Do not stand close to the sling bar when turning in case it tilts suddenly.
Follow step 1-3 from the previous chapter.
- Lift the user and offset to one side if possible as shown.
Lower and hook off the straps from the bedside of the sling.
- Hook all five straps to the sling bar. Prepare the patient for the turning, put the pillow into the place for the new position.
Prepare leg and arm for the turning. Raise the sling bar and make sure user is turning gently to side.
- Unhook all straps and tuck them in under mattress in to prevent staff and user tripping over. Raise the bedrails.
Things to remember when transferring or repositioning users
Make sure that arms and legs do not obstruct the seat, bed, etc.
- Check that the sling is correctly fitted around the user and that the strap loops are correctly fitted to the sling bar hooks.
- Start lifting until the lifting straps are stretched without lifting the user. Ensure that loops of the sling are securely fastened to avoid the user slipping or falling out of the sling.
- Lift user, and perform transfer.
Never lift the user higher than necessary to carry out a lift. Remember that wheels on a mobile lift must NOT be locked.
Be careful during movement, the user may swing during turns, stops and starts. Be careful when maneuvering close to furniture and similar to prevent the suspended user from colliding with these objects. Make sure not to damage or remove labels when cleaning.
Periodic inspection
Periodic inspection of the non-rigid body support unit should be undertaken at the time intervals stated by the manufacturer, but at least every 6 months. More frequent inspections may be required where a non-rigid body support unit is used or cleaned more frequently than normal.
