Absolutely. Just to provide further detail on how this would work. You are allowed to have up to 4 emergency contact on file. If the alarm is engaged, our operators will call in through the base station to determine whether the subscriber needs emergency assistance or not. If there is no answer, then we will call the primary phone number for the subscriber. Normally, we dispatch emergency medical services if we don’t get a response from that either and then call the emergency contacts. Optionally, you can have one or more emergency contacts called before we dispatch emergency services. This can be designated during the activation call.
Yes, the system alerts all of the caregivers that are in your Care Circle. During the first step of activating with Medical Guardian, you will set up your Care Circle, and add those you want to be notified when the button is pressed.
Yes your contacts can be set up to be the first contact and then if they cannot get to your contacts, they then will call 911.
I returned the device immediately, because it didn’t fit my needs, and the service was too expensive. Shopping for this is nearly impossible – too many options.
If the user is far from the base station you’ll simply use the button and the base station will call out to our monitoring center. If no one can speak back during the time of the emergency then we’ll send emergency help. If you’d like to speak with our monitoring center wherever you go in and outside the home, we recommend one of our mobile products (On-The-Go Guardian or Premium Guardian). The Freedom Guardian also has two-way communication to ensure you can speak with someone anywhere if an emergency occurs.
The necklace is easy to take off. The wrist bracelet might take a little more effort.
You will not need Wifi in order for this product to work. The system works off of AT&T Cellular Coverage, helping keep you protected in and around your home.
That is in addition to the 35 dollars monthly monitoring. I had to inquire about this myself because that was the main goal of purchasing this unit.
We have never charged it. We only push the button once every couple of months to test it. I don’t even see any way to charge it.
While fall detection does not come with the product when you purchase from Amazon, you can add fall detection to the device when you call to activate with us.
No internet connection required. It works wirelessly through a cell carrier signal.
When you purchase through Amazon you will receive one free month of service. Following that month you can continue monthly without having to sign any contracts. If you’d like you can sign up for an Annual term with us and receive another free month of service. You can also cancel the annual term at any time as well.
The device currently only works with AT&T service. That being said, you do not have to supply the connection as the device already comes with the cellular service from AT&T directly in the device. You’ll simply plug in the device using the self-activation.
