From personal experience, you need to be sure of what all the protection plan provides. Skullcandy has a 2 year limited warranty that is offered for their products, from the date of purchase. I purchased the Accidental Square Trade plan and found out AFTER the fact, that the warranty plan can complete if the cost of the repair ends up being the amount I paid for the headphones ( I may have found this out with some prior research, but who knows)
