How to Use
- Plug into an outlet.
- To Fill Water Reservoir, lift Removable Water Reservoir straight up. Lift the Hinged Lid and add tap water or filtered water to MAX fill line 40 oz (1183 mL).
- Close Water Reservoir Lid and slide Water Reservoir back into Water Reservoir Holder.
- Use Lid Handle to lift up Lid. Hold The Scoop® Handle and remove The Scoop® to add ground coffee. Scoop coffee grounds directly into The Scoop®. Do not fill ground coffee above MAX fill. Measure coffee in the following way:
- 8 oz cup = 1 1/2 tablespoons (8 g) ground coffee
- 14 oz cup = MAX 3 tablespoons (15 g) ground coffee
NOTE: To get perfect tasting coffee, adjust measurements up or down accordingly.
- Add The Scoop®, align the handle with a slot in Grounds Catcher, and lower the Lid until it clicks into place.
- For stronger, rich-tasting coffee, press the BOLD Button. Always press the BOLD Button when using premium brand ground coffees, finely ground coffee, decaf, or flavored coffees.
- The select desired amount of coffee by pressing the 8 oz or 14 oz Button. Once selections are made, press (ON/OFF) Button to begin brewing. (ON/OFF) the light turns off when brewing is complete. The last selected cup size button and BOLD Button, if selected, will stay illuminated.

WARNING Burn Hazard.
- If overflow occurs, unplug the coffee maker and allow to cool.
- To avoid overflow, keep ground coffee below MAX fill.
- Fully insert travel mug onto drip tray cover or cup onto cup rest.
NOTES
- If there is no water in Water Reservoir, red (ON/OFF) Button will blink 30 seconds and Coffee Maker will not brew. Add water to Water Reservoir and press (ON/OFF) Button to start brewing.
- Coffee Maker will automatically shut off after brew cycle is complete.
When using whole bean coffee, a medium automatic drip coffee grind will yield best results. Be careful not to overgrind, since very finely ground coffee can cause overflow. - If overflow occurs, first try switching to the BOLD setting, or use slightly less grounds. BOLD setting dispenses water at a slower rate, allowing more contact time and better coffee extraction from coffee grounds.
- Always add Grounds Catcher before adding The Scoop®.
Tips:
- For hotter coffee, rinse the mug or travel mug with warm water before brewing. More coffee grounds is not better. Overfilling The Scoop® does not allow room for brewing. Water can overflow and weak coffee will dispense into cups.
- Do not pack your grounds. Packing grounds into The Scoop® forms a firm surface that won’t let water through, dispensing weak coffee into a cup.
Coffee Measurement

- Do not exceed 15 g of grounds in The Scoop® during any brew cycle.
- Measurements are recommendations only. You can vary amounts and types of grounds to your preference.
- Wait at least 5 minutes after brewing before emptying The Scoop® and rinsing the Removable Grounds Catcher.
Tips for Best-Tasting Coffee
- All coffees are made from either arabica beans or robusta beans, or some combination of both. Arabica beans are slightly more expensive but tend to produce better-tasting coffee.
- Ground coffee will become stale much faster than whole beans. If buying preground coffee, choose a package with the latest expiration date or a smaller quantity.
- Try to use freshly ground coffee within about a week of grinding.
- Using a water filter, filtered water, or bottled water will yield better-tasting coffee than some tap water.
- Make sure your coffee maker is clean. See the “Care and Cleaning” section.
- Soft water causes poor coffee extraction, leading to poor-tasting coffee. Use filtered, spring, or bottled water if your water is soft.
Care and Cleaning
- Unplug.
- Wash the Removable Water Reservoir with a Hinged Lid in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry. Water Reservoir is not dishwasher-safe. The Scoop®, Grounds Catcher, and Drip Tray Cover are dishwasher-safe in Top Rack only. DO NOT use the “SANI” setting on the dishwasher. “SANI” cycle temperatures could damage your product.
- Wipe the outside of the Coffee Maker with a damp cloth or sponge. Dry.
Monthly Cleaning

FAQs
The best coffee maker is the one that makes your coffee taste the best. There are many different kinds of coffee makers on the market, but if you are looking for a great tasting cup of coffee, you will want to look at the top rated coffee makers. These are the ones that have been tested and proven to make great tasting coffee.
A drip coffee maker is one of the most popular types of coffee makers. This type of machine has been around for quite some time and is still very popular today. This style of machine uses a filter in order to make your coffee. The filter sits inside a container and allows the water to drip through it and into your cup.
Cleaning your coffee maker is an important part of owning and using one of these machines. If you do not clean your machine regularly, it will not work properly and you will not get a good tasting cup of coffee. You should clean out your machine at least once a week or more if you use it frequently.
Some tips for cleaning your machine include running vinegar through it to remove any smells or tastes that may be left behind from old brews. You can also run plain water through it if you do not have vinegar on hand. Another tip for keeping your machine clean is to run two cycles with just water before using your machine to brew another pot of coffee. This will help to remove any old flavors that may still be lingering in the machine from previous brews.
A single serve coffee brewer (also known as a single serve brewing machine) is a coffee maker created to manufacture one cup of coffee or another beverage.
Two tablespoons of coffee should roughly equal one level coffee scoop. Therefore, you must use one scoop for each cup of coffee if you want it to be strong. However. Use one scoop for every two cups of coffee if you like a weaker brew.
Make a couple cups of vinegar water (without the coffee pod) and then repeatedly rinse the area with water. That means to get rid of any remaining vinegar flavour, rinse, rinse, and rinse some more. The majority of equipment makers advise descaling every three to six months.
Coffee is typically brewed using 1 to 2 teaspoons of ground coffee per 6 ounces of water, with 2 tablespoons producing stronger coffee. In a typical coffeemaker, a 6-ounce portion is equivalent to one “cup,” however keep in mind that a 12-ounce or bigger mug is more typical.
Although it might seem like a good idea to put milk in a Keurig to make hot chocolate, you should never put milk in a Keurig or any other drip coffee machine. This is quite tough to clean and can easily harm your computer.
A baking soda solution is less difficult to remove from your coffee maker than vinegar, just like lemon juice is. Combine 1/4 cup of baking soda with 1 cup of water. Your coffee machine should be run through the solution. Run three to five brew cycles without coffee to rinse with water.
Full-fat milk is the preferred option among baristas since it foams nicely and has a great texture because to the fat. Semi-skimmed milk doesn’t quite have the same opulent feel, but it still works well in a coffee maker and when foamed.
Although the procedure appears straightforward, the outcomes can vary depending on the coffee machine. The flavour that is taken from the ground beans depends on the water’s temperature, and the amount of time the water is in contact with the beans determines how strong the brew will be.
Coffee makers can also be descaled with citric acid, which is frequently used to descale kettles. Turn on the machine after dissolving two teaspoons in the water tank. After you’ve finished, don’t forget to completely rinse everything.
Microbiologist Roman Golash examined the coffee grounds in the cup, the area beneath the coffee maker, and the water reservoir. Gram-positive bacteria such as staphylococcus, streptococcus, and bacillus cereus were among the microbes he discovered. He also made the discovery of enteric bacteria, also known as intestinal bacteria like E. coli.
