KSA1000 Kozi 2×2.5m Side Awning

Product Information

The Pull Out Awning 2×2.5M is a camping accessory designed for
general camping purposes in normal conditions. It is not suitable
for extreme weather conditions. The awning is manufactured by
Darche and can be found on their website at www.darche.com.au. The awning is
recommended for a two-person setup.

Awning Setup Instructions

  1. Step 1: Unzip the transit cover and while holding the awning,
    release the hook and loop straps.
  2. Step 2: Unroll the awning to its full length.
  3. Step 3: Twist to unlock and lengthen each rafter pole, do not
    tighten at this stage.
  4. Step 4: Carefully release the leg poles from within the
    channel. Set each leg to the desired height then twist the leg lock
    to tighten.
  5. Step 5: Whilst holding the awning end beam with one arm, slide
    each rafter arm, aligning the end pin into the end beam holes and
    then twist each rafter arm lock pole to lock in position.
  6. Step 6: Fix the awning canvas to the rafter arms using the hook
    and loop straps.
  7. Step 7: Using the pegs and guy ropes secure the awning front
    beam diagonally outwards to secure the legs.
  8. Step 8: Always set the awning up with sufficient angle to allow
    water to run off and not pool on top of the awning. This can be
    achieved by lowering the height of one or both of the awnings legs
    to create a downward angle to encourage water to run off.

Awning Walls

A Front Wall (sold separately) can be used with this awning. To
install, slide the rope into the sail track groove and attach the
hook and loop fasteners on each side of the wall to each of the
front vertical legs. Side Walls (sold separately) can also be used
with this awning. Attach the clips at the top of the rafter pole/s
and attach the hook and loop fasteners located on the wall side to
the front vertical leg.

Awning Pack Down

  1. Step 1: For awning pack down, reverse the above steps. Be sure
    to roll the awning material underneath itself.
  2. Step 2: Avoid packing up the awning when wet. If the awning
    must be packed away when wet, open it up to allow it to dry
    completely at the earliest opportunity. Storing the awning wet for
    an extended period may result in mold or other issues.

Care Instructions

Clean the awning with cold fresh water and a soft brush. Do not
use soaps or detergents on the awning. Do not expose the awning to
petrol, oils, or solvents. Ensure the awning is completely dry
before storing.

Storing Instructions

Ensure the awning is completely dry before storing. Avoid
creases when rolling up the awning. If the awning was packed away
when wet, it must be dried as soon as possible. Incorrect storage
is not covered by the warranty.

Before installing and using your awning please read the instructions and warnings below. Should you have any questions or require assistance, please contact your Darche retailer or call our customer service line: 1300 367 695. Familiarise yourself with the awning, we recommend that you unpack and set up this awning at home before use. Incorrect set up or use is not covered under general warranty. Inspections: During trips regularly check that all nuts and bolts attaching your awning to your vehicle are tight and in good condition. Roof bar spacing and roof rack size should be considered when selecting your awning. The unsecured length of each side of the awning (the distance between the ends of the awning and the supplied brackets) should not exceed 600mm.
WARNING Ensure sufficient awning fall for water run-off is provided. Guy ropes can present trip hazards in day and night conditions. Ensure all guy ropes are secured and anchored correctly. Avoid using the awning in strong winds. Keep all flame and heat sources including camp fires, BBQs, etc. away from the awning. Under no circumstance should any naked flame sources or heating devices be used under or near the awning. Keep a look out for any airborne burning embers that may come into contact with the awning.

ATTACHING AWNING TO L-BRACKETS 1. Slide the head of the 4 x channel bolts into the mounting rail channels (two bolts in each channel),
located on the rear of the awning transit cover. 2. Position the L-brackets onto the awning using the channel bolts. 3. Align awning into desired position and tighten all nuts and bolts. 4. Recheck all nuts and bolts periodically. FITTING GUIDE Your Darche Kozi Series Awning has been designed for a universal fit with most makes and models of four wheel drives, SUV and station wagons, utes and vans. Your awning can either be mounted directly to a roof rack, roof cross bars. When mounting the awning ensure it is positioned to allow sufficient clearance for the vehicles doors to open. When fitting L-bracket to roof rack, or roof cross bars, please refer to your roof rack manual or licensed 4WD accessory fitter for assistance. When mounting to roof racks or cross bars etc, ensure the unsecured length at each end of the awning does not exceed 600mm. Mounting the L-brackets at lengths greater than 600mm from end of awning may cause excessive vibration through the awning and result in potential failure of fittings. Tip: We recommend that you go for a short drive after attaching the awning to your vehicle. Check to see if any further tightening of brackets is necessary.

AWNING SET UP We recommend a 2 person set up for this awning. Step 1

Gently swing out both rafter arms from the awning’s backing, slightly past 90° away from vehicle.
