30K Motorcycle Bluetooth Communication System

Product Information

The 30K is a communication device featuring Sena’s Mesh Intercom
technology. It allows seamless communication within a group, even
if a rider falls out of range. With more connections and Mesh
Intercom technology, the 30K is the next generation of
communication. It has a range of up to 2 km (1.2 mi) in open
terrain. The device also includes features like Audio Multitasking,
Multi-Way Intercom, HD Speakers, Advanced Noise Control, Group
Intercom, Remote Control, and Fast Charging.

Product Usage Instructions

Getting Started

  1. This product comes with a Quick Start Guide. For a more
    detailed User’s Guide, download it from SENA.COM.
  2. Update the product with the latest firmware for advanced
    features. Visit sena.com for instructions on how to update.
  3. Follow Sena on social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube,
    Twitter, and Instagram) for up-to-date information, helpful tips,
    and product announcements.

How to Use This Guide

The legend and callouts provided in the illustrations will help
you understand how to perform actions using the device’s buttons
and jog dial.

Installation

  1. Pull the Mesh Intercom Antenna outwards slightly to unfold
    it.

Sena Motorcycles App

Download the Sena Motorcycles App from Google Play Store or App
Store.

Sena Device Manager

Download the Sena Device Manager from sena.com to upgrade
firmware and configure settings directly from your PC or Apple
computer.

Basic Operations

Powering On

Press and hold the Power button for 1 second to power on the
device.

Powering Off

Tap the Power button once or hold it for 1 second to power off
the device.

Volume Up

Rotate the Jog Dial clockwise (right) to increase the
volume.

Volume Down

Rotate the Jog Dial counterclockwise (left) to decrease the
volume.

Checking the Battery Level

To check the battery level, power on the headset and observe the
visual prompts:

  • High Battery Level: Hold the Power button for 1 second and
    observe a high battery level prompt.
  • Medium Battery Level: Hold the Power button for 1 second and
    observe a medium battery level prompt.
  • Low Battery Level: Hold the Power button for 1 second and
    observe a low battery level prompt.

Phone Pairing

  1. Hold the Phone button for 5 seconds until it starts blinking to
    enter phone pairing mode.
  2. Select “30K” from the list of Bluetooth devices detected on
    your mobile phone.

Mobile Phone

Answer a Call

To answer a call, tap either the Phone button or the Mesh
Intercom button once.

End a Call

To end a call, tap the Phone button once or hold it for 2
seconds.

Reject a Call

To reject a call, hold the Phone button for 2 seconds.

Make Call with Voice Dialer

In stand-by mode, tap the Phone button once to activate the
voice dialer and make a call.

Music Controls

Play/Pause

To play or pause music, hold the Phone button.

Mesh IntercomTM

When Mesh Intercom is enabled, the 30K will automatically connect to nearby 30K users and allow them to talk to each other by pressing the Mesh Intercom Button.

Note: Open Mesh and Group Mesh cannot communicate with the previous modes Public Mode and Private Mode. In case of no communication, the headset should be upgraded to the latest firmware.

Open MeshTM
When Mesh Intercom is enabled, the headset will be in Open Mesh (default: channel 1) initially. Users can freely communicate with each other in the same Open Mesh channel.
Channel Setting (Default: channel 1)
If the Open Mesh communication experiences interference because other groups are also using channel 1 (default), change the channel. You can select from channels 1 to 9.

Group MeshTM
Group Mesh is a closed group intercom function that allows users to join, leave, or rejoin a group intercom conversation without pairing each headset. Up to 24 users can all be connected in each private group.

Creating a Group Mesh

Creating a Group Mesh requires two or more Open Mesh users.

Users can enable/disable the microphone when communicating in a Mesh Intercom.

Mesh Reach-Out Request

You (caller) can send a request message to turn on the Mesh Intercom to nearby friends who have it turned off.

1. If you want to send or receive a request massage, you need to enable Mesh Reach-Out on the Sena Motorcycles App.

2. While your headset’s Mesh Intercom is on, you (caller) send a request message using the headset’s Button or the Sena Motorcycles App.

Using the Smart Intercom Pairing (SIP)
SIP allows you to quickly pair with your friends for intercom communication by scanning the QR code on the Sena Motorcycles App without remembering the button operation.

1. Pair the mobile phone with the headset. 2. Open the Sena Motorcycles App and tap (Smart
Intercom Pairing Menu). 3. Scan the QR code displayed on your friend (B)’s
mobile phone. · Your friend (B) can display the QR code on the
mobile phone by tapping > QR code ( ) on the Sena Motorcycles App.
4. Tap Save and check that your friend (B) is paired with you (A) correctly.
5. Tap Scan ( ) and repeat steps 3-4 to pair with Intercom Friends (C) and (D).
Note: The Smart Intercom Pairing (SIP) is not compatible with Sena products that use Bluetooth 3.0 or below.
