Product Usage Instructions

  1. To check clearance between the fork brace and the frame’s
    headtube, follow these steps:
    1. Set the stanchions to your preferred ride height in the
      crowns.
    2. Release all air from the fork.
    3. Compress the fork fully to the bottom-out position.
    4. If the fork lowers’ brace makes contact with the headtube, drop
the stanchions in the crowns to increase the distance between the
fork seals and the underside of the lower crown.
    5. If there is still interference, repeat step 4 until there is
enough clearance to avoid contact with the frame’s headtube.
    6. If there is interference even when the stanchions are flush
with the top of the upper crown, revert to the middle 0mm headset
      cups.

Figure 2 - Adjustment Range Headtube and Brace Clearance

  2. If there is interference between the headtube and fork brace,
drop the stanchions within the adjustment range until there is
    clearance at bottom-out.

Figure 3 - Stanchion Flush with Upper Crown

  3. If the stanchions are fully dropped and flush in the crowns,
and there is still interference, the -6mm setting is not suitable.
Please revert to 0mm headset cups.
  4. If there is space between the brace and headtube at bottom-out,
you can raise the stanchions in the crowns to lower the ride
height. Always check clearance after any stanchion height
    adjustments.
  5. For Boxxer model forks, ensure there is a minimum of 2mm of
    stanchion above the upper crown.

Dissent Carbon Reach Adjust Headset Fork Lower Crown Clearance Guide
Your new Dissent Carbon is supplied and installed with a Reach Adjustable headset. It comes fitted from the factory with the middle setting cups. The optional +/-6mm eccentric cups are also supplied to adjust to your preferred reach.
Warning When using the eccentric cups in the -6mm position, you must check for clearance at suspension bottom out between the forks lowers’ brace and frame headtube. Interference may be possible between the forks lower brace and frames headtube with certain set-ups. (Figure 1)
· Fox 40 models have adequate clearance with the headset in the -6mm position and do not need to be checked. Please also familiarise yourself with FOX Stack Height instructions to ensure correct set-up.
· MY23 and earlier Rockshox Boxxer model forks will need checked for clearance with the headset in the -6mm position. Please also familiarise yourself with RockShox stanchion instructions on Page 66 of the RockShox Service Manual to ensure correct set-up during checks.
· All other makes and models of forks with the headset in the -6mm position will also need to be checked for clearance

With the eccentric headset cups in the -6mm position and stanchions raised in the crowns to lower the front ride height, there can be interference between the forks brace and the frame’s headtube.
Check Procedure
1. To check clearance with your frame’s headtube, set stanchions to your preferred ride height in the crowns and release all air from the fork. 2. Compress the fork fully to the bottom out position. 3. If the fork lowers’ brace makes contact with the headtube, drop the stanchions in the crowns to increase the distance between the fork seals
and the underside of the lower crown. 4. If your fork continues to interfere with the frame’s headtube, repeat step 3 until there is the required clearance to avoid contact with the
frame’s headtube 5. If there is still interference when the stanchions are flush with the top of the upper crown, then please revert to the middle 0mm headset
position. (The 6mm headset position is not compatible with your fork) 1

STANCHION FLUSH WITH UPPER CROWN
Figure 3 If the stanchions are fully dropped and flush in the crowns and there is still interference, the -6mm setting is not suitable. Please revert to 0mm headset cups. If there is space between the brace and headtube at bottom out, there is room to raise the stanchions in the crowns and lower the ride height.
