IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using this electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the followings:

  1. Before using, make sure that the voltage of the wall outlet corresponds to the coffee maker rating plate.
  2. This coffee maker can be used by physically/mentally disabled people or people who lack experience and knowledge about the coffee maker if they are under close supervision and instruction by persons who take responsibility for their safety and when they are aware of possible risks and dangers.
  3. Do not let children use, touch, clean, or play with the coffee maker.
  4. This coffee maker is for household coffee making only and can be stopped by pressing the ON/OFF button anytime during its operation.
  5. The coffee maker must be placed on a flat surface. Do not move the coffee maker or turn off the power while it is working.
  6. Unplug the coffee maker when not in use.
  7. Before using the coffee maker for the first time, operate it twice with clean water to remove the odor.
  8. Do not damage the cord or put the power cord and the plug into water or any other liquids; do not wash the coffee maker or power cord in water or other liquids.
  9. Regularly clean and maintain the coffee maker parts to ensure the quality of coffee and extend the shelf life of the coffee maker.
  10. Do not use the coffee maker in high temperature, high magnetic field, and damp environments; do not use it when the plug is damaged or when the coffee maker is out of order.
  11. Use original accessories only.
  12. Do not move the coffee maker when there is still water in the water tank.

First Use Preparation or Not in Use for a Long Period
Before you use it for the very first time, clean the coffee maker twice based on the guidelines below.

  1. Pour water into the water tank and do not exceed the “Max” mark in the tank.
  2. Put the filter into the funnel, tighten and align it with the ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 7” mark (see below pictures).

  3. Plug in the power, press the “Power-Button-Icon.png ” button, the coffee maker beeps. ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 2” and ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon” button lights flashing together indicates the coffee maker starts to warm up (Make sure that the steam knob points to “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 3“. If it points to “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 4 “, the four lights will flash together and the machine will not work.).
  4. Press ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 1 ” button and turn the steam knob to “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 4for the steam nozzle to discharge hot water. Then turn the steam knob back to “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 3‘ and press ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 1” button.
  5. When the indicator lights of “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 2” and “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon” are always on, press the button of ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 2” to wash the coffee filter or coffee cup with hot water.

Espresso Coffee Making

  1. While the coffee maker is preheating, insert the filter into the funnel (depending on the amount, use a one-cup filter or two-cup filter respectively), load ground coffee powder into the filter, and compress it with the rear of the coffee spoon; meanwhile, clean the coffee powder at the edge of the funnel.
    Note: When inserting the filter, please first align the “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 5 ” mark on the funnel with the “Up ” tab on the filter, and then slightly rotate the filter to lock it. To disassemble the filter, please turn the filter back to the “Up ” position on the funnel to make sure the tab between the two is aligned.

  2. Insert the funnel and lock it tightly as shown by the indication sign ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 7 “, then place the coffee cup under the funnel.

  3. When the ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 2” and ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon” lights are on, press the ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 2” button or ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon” button to discharge the corresponding amount of coffee.
  4. Wait for the coffee to drip, it’s done!

Steam Milk Foam Function

  1. Press ” Power ” and then ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 1“. At this time, the ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 1” indicator starts flashing until the indicator turns on normally and the preheating is completed.
  2. Pour the iced whole milk into the frothing pitcher 1/3 of the way, insert the steam nozzle roughly 1cm/0.39 inches deep in the milk, then slowly spin the steam knob to “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 4 “until the steam starts to come out (see below pictures).

  3. When the temperature of milk reaches about 75 °C (167°F) and the milk foam begins to inflate, you can twist the “steam knob” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 3“and press “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 1” to turn it off.

Hot Water Function

Press the “Power ” button, turn the ‘steam knob’ to “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 4 “, and the steam pipe will start to discharge hot water; Turn the “steam knob ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 3 “Or ” to stop the hot water.
Note: it is normal for the machine to make a relatively large vibration sound during hot water discharge.

Memorized Coffee Making Function

  1. When the “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 2” and “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon” indicator lights are on, press and hold the ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 2” button, and the funnel starts to pour coffee. When the desired amount is reached, release the ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 2” button, and you will hear a sound from the coffee maker. That means the time has been memorized.
  2. Next time you press the ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 2” button, the coffee maker will keep discharging coffee for the same amount of time as it was set last time (the longest time is 60 seconds). If the time you set was too short, it will not be saved; the time should be long enough for the coffee maker to discharge more than 15m1 coffee.
  3. Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon ” two-cup button memorized coffee making function setting can be operated the same as above.
  4. Restore factory setting: press and hold  Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 8 buttons for 3 seconds at the same time. When both lights are on and ringing 3 times, the factory setting has been restored, then the machine will turn off automatically.

Lack of Water Reminder Function
The Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 8 and “-Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon” flash at the same time and the coffee maker beeps indicating the coffee maker is lack water. After pouring water in the tank, turn the “steam knob” to ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 4 and wait for about 10s. When there is water spraying out, turn the “steam knob” to ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 3 “, press the coffee button to start the pump; the pump will pull water into the water circuit and the coffee maker will start working normally.

Descaling Reminder Function

  1. After 300 cups of coffee, the coffee maker will warn for descaling.
  2. When the coffee maker is turned on, the control panel lights (all 4 buttons) will flash 5 times and the coffee maker will beep 5 times. This warning reminder shall happen each time the coffee maker is turned on until the reminder is canceled.
  3. After the warning reminder, the coffee maker can continue to work normally but the ON/OFF button will keep flashing until you cancel the reminder or conduct a descaling operation.
  4. To cancel the descaling reminder after cleaning, press both ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 2” and ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon ” at the same time for 2 seconds to cancel the flashing light on ON/OFF button.
  5. To descale the coffee maker, please refer to the “How to Descale” section on page 8.

Cooling Function

When the coffee maker becomes very hot after coffee-making, make sure the steam knob is turned to ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 3 “. The indicator lights for “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 2 ” and ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon” buttons will flash quickly and that indicates the coffee maker needs to be cooled. At this time, rotate the “steam knob” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 4” and the steam pipe will start to discharge water and cool down. Once the ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 2” and ” Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon” indicator lights stop flashing quickly, turn the steam knob to “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 3 ” and the machine will stop cooling down. You can start making coffee when the power indicator is on.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Unplug the power cord and make sure the coffee maker completely cools down before cleaning it.
  2. Wipe the exterior parts of the coffee maker with a damp cloth or a clean sponge.
  3. Please clean the gadgets when they are taken off from the coffee maker.
  4. Clean the water tank once a week with a mixture of soap and cleanser.
  5. Do not use alcohol or solvent cleaner, do not clean the coffee maker while it is in the water.
  6. Do not use the steam function to clean the coffee maker.
  7. Do not scrub the coffee maker with a metal brush.
  8. Unscrew the coffee funnel and clean the coffee grounds in the filter.
  9. Clean the frothing nozzle each time after using it:
    A. Make sure there is water in the water tank. The water should not exceed the maximum level of the water tank
    B. Put a cup (with water) underneath the frothing nozzle and immerse the frothing nozzle in the cup.
    C. Press the steam button for 10-15 seconds.
    D. Remove the cup.
    E. Wipe it and let it dry.
    F. Rinse the separable components under running water.

How to Descale

For effective operation, it is recommended to descale the coffee maker every 2-3 months.
Use Citric Acid Cleaning Solvent: 2 teaspoons of citric acid and 1 liter of water.

  1. Fill the water tank with the solvent and insert the water tank into its place.
  2. Place a container under the coffee spout. After the coffee maker is warmed up, press “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon 2 ” or “Laekerrt CMEP01 Espresso Coffee Maker - icon ” buttons to let the cleaning solvent flow throughout the coffee maker. Ensure the citric acid will flow in a container under the coffee spout.
  3. When the water tank becomes empty, fill it with clean water only and repeat the above procedure to flush all the cleaning solution away.

Troubleshooting

3. Use a small wire to poke around the steam hole.
4. Turn on the steam button and/or steam knob and wait for the preheating to complete before steam comes out.
No greaseThe coffee grounds are too thick or the grounds are not pressed.Replace the coffee powder and flatten it with the rear of the coffee spoon.
Too much or too little coffee powderToo much or too little coffee powder.Put more or less coffee powder.
Note: Coffee powder cannot be too thick or too fine. Coffee powder that is too thick cannot be completely extracted whereas coffee powder that is too fine affects the amount being scooped in the spoon.
The milk does not foam well1. Whether it is whole milk.
