(N80CB-1ML-E, N8090CB-1ML-E ONLY)
  1. Release the canister latch on the rear of the canister. (Fig. 3)
  2. Pull out the canister bottom by swinging right to left until tabs disengage. (Fig. 4)
  3. Inside the canister bracket there are settings in inches and millimeters. The canister is adjusted correctly when the length of fastener being used is shown in the window of the canister bottom.
  4. Push back the canister bottom and engage the latch
ADJUSTING THE MAGAZINE
(All models EXCEPT N80CB-1ML-E, N8090CB-1ML-E)
  1. The magazine contains an adjustable nail platform on which the nail coil rests. The nail platform can be adjusted up and down to specific nail settings.
  2. To change settings, pull up on the post and twist to the correct step. (Fig. 5)
TRIP OPERATION MODE

THESE TOOLS ARE FITTED WITH 2 DIFFFERENT ACTUATION MODES DEPENDING ON THE MODEL.

Warning Icon 4WARNING! Always disconnect air supply before making adjustments as accidental actuation may occur, possibly causing injury.

SEQUENTIAL ACTUATION MODE:

Models: N64084-2-E, N66C-2-E, N66FH-2-E, N75C-2-E, N75CWW-2-M, N89C-2-E, N512C-2-E

CONTACT ACTUATION MODE:

Models: N58C-1-E, N64084-1-E, N64099-1-E, N80CB-1ML-E, N8090CB-1ML-E, N89C-1P-E, N400C-1-E, N401C-1-E

SEQUENTIAL ACTUATION

The sequential actuation requires the operator to hold the tool against the work with the safety yoke depressed before pulling the trigger. In order to drive additional fasteners, the trigger must be released and the tool lifted away from the work, before repeating the above mentioned steps.

This makes accurate fastener placement easier, for instance on framing, toe nailing and crating applications. The sequential actuation allows exact fastener location without the possibility of driving a second fastener on recoil, as described under Contact Trip (below). The sequential actuation tool has a positive safety advantage because it will not accidentally drive a fastener if the tool is contacted against the work – or anything else – while the operator is holding the trigger pulled.

CONTACT ACTUATION

THESE TOOLS ARE FITTED WITH CONTACT ACTUATION.

Warning Icon 4 WARNING! Always disconnect air supply before making adjustments as accidental actuation may occur, possibly causing injury.

BOSTITCH N75CWW-2-M Pneumatic Coil Nailer d13Warning Icon 4WARNING! Tools marked with this symbol have either contact actuation, continuous contact actuation or selectable actuation with contact actuation selected.

WHEN IN CONTACT ACTUATION MODE:

These tools are designed for use in production applications such as pallets, furniture, manufactured housing or upholstery. DO NOT use for applications such as closing boxes or crates and fitting transportation safety systems on trailers and lorries. This tool shall only be used in safe working places. Care must be taken to prevent accidental actuation when changing from one working position to another.

The common operating procedure on “Contact actuation” tools is for the operator to actuate the safety trip while keeping the trigger pulled, thus driving a fastener each time the work is contacted. This will allow rapid fastener placement on many jobs, such as pallet assembly. All pneumatic tools are subject to recoil when driving fasteners.

The tool may bounce, releasing the safety yoke and if unintentionally allowed to re-contact the work surface with the trigger still actuated (finger still holding the trigger pulled) an unwanted second fastener will be driven.

FASTENER DEPTH CONTROL ADJUSTMENT

N66C-2-E, N66FH-2-E, N75C-2-E, N75CWW-2-M ONLY (Fig. 6)

The DIAL-A-DEPTH™ Fastener Control adjustment feature provides close control of the fastener drive depth; from flush with the work surface to shallow or deep countersink.

First, set the air pressure for consistent drive in the specific work, then use the DIAL-A-DEPTH™ Fastener Control adjustment to give the desired depth of drive.

N58C-1-E, N64084-1-E, N64084-2-E, N64099-1-E, N89C-1P-E, N89C-2-E, N400C-1-E, N401C-1-E, N512C-2-E ONLY (Fig. 7)

The Fastener Depth Control Adjustment feature provides control of the nail drive depth from flush with or just above the work surface to shallow or deep countersink.

Warning Icon 4WARNING! Disconnect tool from air supply before attempting any parts disassembly and before changing the work contacting element adjustment.

Step 1. Push in Locking Button

Step 2. Adjust contact arm up to increase depth of drive or down to decrease it.

Step 3. Release locking button.

Warning Icon 4WARNING! Never use the utility hook to hang the tool from the body, clothing or belt.

Warning Icon 4WARNING! Never use the utility hook with contact (black) trigger operated tools.

DRIVER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

Worn driver causing poor quality or loss of power

  • Wear on the driving tip will affect the nail drive, giving symptoms of bent and incompletely driven nails, and damaged nail heads
  • The driver length may be adjusted to allow the driving tip to be redressed to compensate for wear. Heat and precise measurement are required. Contact a qualified service technician for this adjustment.
  • The length setting for a new driver is shown in the Technical Data Table, column T. Measurement is from the top face of the piston.
  • Note that the measurement U (see Technical Data Table) from the top of the piston gives the maximum amount the driver may be adjusted to allow redressing. Always extend the driver the minimum amount required to allow redressing to restore the driving end; several re-dressings will be possible before this maximum depth is reached.

Note: Driver wear of approximately 3mm can be tolerated in most applications. However, in difficult driving applications, driver wear of approximately 1.5 mm. may cause a slight reduction in the apparent driving power.

CE DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY

We declare under our sole responsibility that this fastener driving tool as identified above is in conformity with the following standards: EN ISO11148-13:2017 in accordance with regulations 2006/42/EC. Technical construction files for use by authorities are available from the addresses below.
