Product Information: Model 5218 Triaxial Male 3 Lung
Connector
- Materials: The body and fittings of the connector are
made of brass with tarnish-resistant plating. The center contact
for male is made of brass with tarnish-resistant plating while the
center contact for female is made of gold-plated beryllium copper.
The outer contact is made of gold-plated beryllium copper and the
dielectric is made of PTFE. - Ordering Information: The model number for this product
is 5218. All dimensions are in inches and metric. All

Product Usage Instructions: Assembly of Triaxial Male 3 Lung
Connector to Cable
- Slide clamp nut, flat washer, and Vee gasket over the cable.
Strip the outer jacket of the cable (refer to Figure #1). - Comb the braid forward and slide the braid clamp over the braid
and against the outer cable jacket. Fold back the braid over the
braid clamp and trim it even with the base of the braid clamp.
Assemble retainer and insulator over the inner jacket and trim the
inner jacket (refer to Figure #2). - Place small braid clamp over the inner braid and against the
inner jacket. Comb out the inner braid and fold it back over the
small braid clamp, then trim the inner braid even with the base of
the small braid clamp. Assemble washer over dielectric again inner
braid. Trim inner dielectric and center conductor (refer to Figure
#3). - Solder the center contact to the center conductor. Place the
inner insulator, outer contact, and outer insulator over the center
contact and insert into the body. Slide clamp nut, washer, and Vee
gasket forward, thread assembly into the body, and tighten (refer
to Figure #4). - The completed assembly is shown in Figure #5.

FIGURE #1 Slide clamp nut, flat washer and Vee gasket over cable. Strip outer jacket or cable.
FIGURE #2 Comb braid forward. Slide braid clamp over braid and against outer cable jacket. Fold braid back over braid clamp, trim even with base of braid clamp. Assemble retainer and insulator over inner jacket. Trim inner jacket.

FIGURE #4 Solder center contact to center conductor. Place inner insulator, outer contact and outer insulator over center contact and insert into body. Slide clamp nut, washer and Vee gasket forward, thread assembly into body and tighten.
