Description

The KISS System is a shuttle pull-in system for transfemoral amputees. It has a very low build height. Thanks to its wide straps, the prosthesis can be donned while sitting. In combination with the guide roller, it provides the patient with high rotational stability.

Indication
For transfemoral amputees. The Delrin KISS Kit 4R160=1 is suitable for contracted residual limbs. It needs an additional socket adapter to connect to the modular system. Furthermore, it is used with carbon frames in conjunction with Thermolyn soft. The 4-Hole-Endoskeletal KISS Kit 4R160=2 is suitable for normal residual limb positions and for sockets laminated without an inner socket. It provides a direct connection to the modular system

Fabrication

CAUTION
Incorrect alignment or assembly Injuries due to fall resulting from damaged prosthesis components Observe the alignment and assembly instructions. The fabrication of a transfemoral prosthesis with the KISS system is described in the technical information 646T2=6.5GB. Following a short summary is written: Prepare the plaster positive and attach the distal base to the plaster positive (Fig. 3). Make sure that the strap exit slot points towards the desired orientation (commonly ventral). Clean away excess plaster and let set until dry. Afterwards go on with the choosen system:

  • Delrin KISS Kit 4R160=1: Fill in all undercuts with putty, including the tab area to be able to easily remove the flexible inner socket from the carbon frame (Fig. 4). Isolate the thread in the tab with Plastaband 636K8=*. Pull a nylon sock 99B25 over the flexible inner socket. Afterwards, laminate as usual and apply the connection adapter.ottobock-4R160-1-Delrin-KISS-Kit-Shuttle-Lock-Lanyard-Systems-FIG-4
  • 4-Hole-Endoskeletal KISS Kit 4R160=2: Isolate the distal base and pullover a PVA bag according to technical information 646T2=6.5GB (Fig. 5). For connecting with the modular system use the KISS Lamination Kit 4R161 (Fig. 6). Integrate the lamination kit into the lamination (Fig. 7). A reinforcement recommendation is described in the technical information 646T2=6.5GB. Finally, place the rubber plate on the liner and fix it. Trim the straps as needed (Fig. 8). ottobock-4R160-1-Delrin-KISS-Kit-Shuttle-Lock-Lanyard-Systems-FIG-5ottobock-4R160-1-Delrin-KISS-Kit-Shuttle-Lock-Lanyard-Systems-FIG-6ottobock-4R160-1-Delrin-KISS-Kit-Shuttle-Lock-Lanyard-Systems-FIG-7ottobock-4R160-1-Delrin-KISS-Kit-Shuttle-Lock-Lanyard-Systems-FIG-8

When using a residual limb sock with the KISS System, it is necessary to cut a proximal hole into the sock, to allow the proximal strap to exit through the socket. The iron-ons 4X225 prevent fraying after the hole is cut. Place an iron-on accordingly on the sock and then cut the hole with a hole puncher

Cleaning

Please clean the hook and loop closure on a regular basis.
