Owens Corning Thermafiber Rainbarrier Ci High Compressive Insulation Instructions

Thermafiber Rainbarrier Ci High Compressive Insulation

Product Information

The Compressive (80) Mineral Wool Insulation is available in
various types: IA, IB, II, III, IVA, and IVB. It is designed to
provide thermal insulation and soundproofing for different
applications.

Technical Data

  • R-Value: The R-value is calculated by dividing the thickness of
the insulation by the thermal conductivity (k) of the
    material.
  • R-Value per inch of thickness: 4.2

Physical Properties

  • Surface Burning Characteristics: The insulation material passes
the ASTM C165 test for non-combustibility.
  • Fungi-Resistance: The insulation material passes the ASTM C665
    test for fungi resistance.
  • Odor: The insulation material does not emit any noticeable
    odor.

Sorption

  • Permeability: The insulation material has a permeability rating
    of 24 perm.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Determine the type of Compressive Mineral Wool Insulation
required for your specific application (IA, IB, II, III, IVA,
    IVB).
  2. Ensure the area to be insulated is clean and free from dust or
    debris.
  3. Measure the required thickness of insulation based on the
    desired thermal or soundproofing requirements.
  4. Cut the insulation material to the appropriate size using a
sharp utility knife or insulation cutting tool.
  5. Place the insulation in the desired location, ensuring a tight
fit and full coverage of the area to be insulated.
  6. If necessary, secure the insulation in place using adhesive,
staples, or other appropriate fastening methods.
  7. Repeat the above steps for additional areas requiring
    insulation.
  8. Regularly inspect the insulation for any signs of damage or
deterioration and replace as necessary to maintain its
    effectiveness.

THERMAFIBER® RAINBARRIER® CI HIGH
COMPRESSIVE (80) MINERAL WOOL INSULATION

Thermafiber® RainBarrier® ci High Compressive (80) continuous insulation boards are designed to support cladding attachment with minimal penetrations. The use of ThermaCrimpTM technology allows for excellent compressive strength while providing thermal efficiency, non-combustibility, water repellency, and flexibility when working with uneven substrates. RainBarrier® ci High Compressive (80) can be used behind light weight cladding — including combustible and open-joint assemblies.

Features · High compressive strength to support cladding attachment
system with minimal penetration through continuous insulation · More than 10% lighter in weight than the leading competitor’s
product · Vapor permeable · Tolerant of substrate irregularities · Non-combustible and non-deteriorating · Fire resistant to temperatures above 2,000°F (1,093°C) · Enhances acoustical performance · Minimum 70% recycled content1 · Contributes to credits in several green building programs such as
LEED® and Green Globes®
