Zoom ZDM-1 Podcast Mic Pack Headphones

Introduction
The ZDM-1 captures your voice with a smooth broadcast character and a large-diaphragm dynamic mic. You’ll always be heard loud and clear thanks to its excellent SPL (Sound Pressure Level) handling and an integrated shock mount. ZHP-1 features a closed-back construction for good isolation and offers rich, full-range sound. A comfortable fit is provided by the self-adjusting headband. The height-adjustable TPS-4 Tripod works well while you’re on the go or at your workstation. The sturdy metal threading withstands frequent usage, and the lightweight
folding legs are convenient to pack and transport. A specially designed windscreen shields the ZDM-1 microphone from wind breathes, and pops, allowing you to record clearly without having your voice muffled. The microphone bundle also contains a shielded two-meter (6.56-foot) XLR microphone wire.
FEATURES
- Delivers a warm and rich broadcast sound
- Supercardioid polar pattern, high gain before feedback
- High SPL capability
- Hum-bucking coil to reduce interference
- The shock mount within the ZDM-1 also greatly reduces stage noise and mechanical and environmental vibrations.
- The ZDM-1’s all-metal construction makes it very robust.
GENERAL RULES FOR USE
- For the best signal to noise ratio, the distance from the microphone to the sound source should be as short as possible.
- The sensitivity of a supercardioid microphone is highest on axis and lowest at 120 to 135 degrees.
- To reduce crosstalk between microphones, a 1:3 guide line should be followed: If the distance between microphone A to the sound source A is “1”, then the distance between sound source A and any other microphone should be more than 3 times.

You can get it with or without headset also can buy additional headsets and microphones.
Is there a headphone jack on the mic?
Yes there is a 3.5mm jack on the headphones, the cable is removable.
I stream games on twitch, i need to know this mic is good with background noise. I run fans will it be an issue?
If you set up a sound treatment like the Kaotica Eyeball around it is excellent for external noise suppression, but it will take up a lot of visual space on the video shot of you. Win some, lose some.
What else do I need to buy? Besides the recorder to start using it?
I bought a Rode Caster Pro to use as the work station. I advise this very much. It will make your life so much easier.
Are these mics better than the audio Technica?
Depends on which audio-Technica mic. These ZDM1 microphones sound great in the broadcast dynamic category. They can make a good run at something that sells for $400+.
can this microphone be attached to a boomarm?
Yes, this microphone can be attached to a boom arm, or any stand with a standard mic stand thread.
Does the microphone have a button to activate the zoom microphone before you speak?
The microphone does not have this type of button on it.
Do I have to buy your recorder to use the mic and headphones?
You do not have to buy a recorder to use the mic and headphones.
Can I plug this into my computer for streaming or do I need an aux adapter?
This would need to be plugged into a microphone input….your computer likely doesn’t have one built in. You can get a USB interface to plug this mic into, then USB into your computer. Or you could just get a USB microphone and a pair of headphones. This is an awesome package for its price, but it will need to go into a mic input to work.
Does this come with a free download license for Steinberg’s wavelab cast software?
Yes, this does.
Can I connect the headphones directly to the microphone
The headphones will not be able to connect directly to the body of the microphone itself.

No. This is an XLR microphone. If you want to use it with an iPhone or iPad you will need to get something like the Zoom Podtrak P4 or another USB audio interphase.
