INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
- You need to be standing in front of the fireplace or wood-burning stove before activating the Chimfirestop®.
- Hold Chimfirestop® by the lower end.
- To activate you need to remove the white cap, you will now see a black striking patch.
- Remove the second white cap with a rotary movement, you will now see the second black striking patch.
- When you are going to activate Chimfirestop®, aim away from your body and face. Strike the two black striking patches against each other to active the contents.
FOR OPEN FIREPLACES
- Activate Chimfirestop® directly in front of the concerned fireplace according to the steps described above
- Put the Chimfirestop® NEXT to the fire, never IN the fire IMMEDIATELY after activation!
- Ensure that there is as little oxygen or drag in the fireplace. If possible, close the fireplace with a panel or close the fireplace with a different fireproof material (for example, a panel or fire blanket). Leave any regulating valve in the fireplace open.
- The naturally present drag in your chimney quickly sucks the gasses from the Chimfirestop® into your channel to extinguish the chimney fire.
FOR WOODBURNING STOVES
- Activate Chimfirestop® directly in front of the stove as described above.
- Put the Chimfirestop® NEXT to the fire, IMMEDIATELY aer activation, never IN the fire!
- Immediately close the door(s) aer placing Chimfirestop®.
- Close the oxygen supply, leave the regulating valve open.
- The naturally present drag in your chimney quickly sucks the gasses from the Chimfirestop® into your channel to extinguish the chimney fire.
*WARNING: CHIMNEY FIRES CAN RE-IGNITE!
Large flue pipes and chimneys may need more than one Chimfirestop® stick to extinguish the fire. For this reason, always keep an extra Chimfirestop® around.
WARNING:
- Do not breath in vapours!
- Store dry.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not hold in your hand for more than 30 seconds! Stick becomes VERY HOT!
- Carefully close the fireplace or stove with fireplace doors or a fireproof panel.
- Chimfirestop is exclusively meant for use with a chimney fire.
