Product Usage Instructions

1. Plug the USB connector of the converter into the USB socket of
   your computer.
2. Download the driver for your operating system from your local
   Lindy webshop and unzip it for installation.
3. If the USB to Serial device driver is installed for the first
   time, it has to be installed twice: one for the device and the
   other for the COM port.
4. Follow the dialogs on the screen until the installation is
   completed. First, the driver software for the USB Serial Converter
   will be installed, then continue to install the software for the
   USB Serial Port.

The Lindy USB to Serial Converter allows simple connection of peripheral devices featuring 9 Way Serial RS485 to a USB Type A port. With both USB Type A and serial connectors, this device is a perfect solution for connecting legacy RS485 equipment such as barcode scanners and industrial devices to notebooks and Macbooks, in retail, IT and digital signage scenarios.

Installation

Installation

Stecken Sie den USB-Anschluss des Konverters in die USB-Buchse des Computers. Laden Sie den passenden Treiber für Ihr Betriebssystem vom Lindy webshop www.lindy.de herunter und entpacken Sie ihn. Wenn zum ersten Mal ein Treiber für ein USB auf Seriell Gerät installiert wird, muss zweimal installiert werden: einmal für das Gerät und ein zweites Mal für den COM-Port.
Folgen Sie den Dialogen, die auf dem Bildschirm angezeigt werden, bis die Installation abgeschlossen ist. Zuerst werden die Treiber für den USB Seriell Konverter installiert, direkt im Anschluss die Treiber für den USB Seriell Port.

Installation
Branchez le connecteur USB de ce convertisseur dans une prise USB de votre ordinateur. Téléchargez ensuite le pilote pour votre système d’exploitation à partir de www.lindy.fr et décompressez-le afin de pouvoir l’installer. Si le pilote USB vers Série est installé pour la première fois, il doit être installé deux fois : une première fois pour l’appareil et une seconde fois pour le port COM.
Suivez les instructions qui s’affiche à l’écran, jusqu’à la fin de l’installation. Le pilote pour le convertisseur USB Série est tout d’abord installé, l’installation continue avec le logiciel pour le port USB Série.

Installazione

Collegate il connettore USB in una porta USB del computer. Scaricate i driver del Vostro sistema operativo dal sito www.lindy.it e unzippatelo per installarlo. Se installate i driver per la prima volta, occorre farlo due volte: una per il dispositivo e una per la porta COM.

Seguite le indicazioni che compaiono sullo schermo fino a completare l’installazione. Viene installato prima il driver del Converter USB Seriale, quindi proseguite con l’installazione del software della porta USB seriale.

Instalación
Conecte el puerto USB de este convertidor a la toma USB de su computadora. Luego descargue el controlador para su sistema operativo desde su tienda web local de Lindy y descomprímalo para su instalación. Europe, United Kingdom In 2006 the European Union introduced regulations (WEEE) for the collection and recycling of all waste electrical and electronic equipment. It is no longer allowable to simply throw away electrical and electronic equipment. Instead, these products must enter the recycling process. Each individual EU member state, as well as the UK, has implemented the WEEE regulations into national law in slightly different ways. Please follow your national law when you want to dispose of any electrical or electronic products. More details can be obtained from your national WEEE recycling agency.
Germany / Deutschland Elektro- und Elektronikgeräte Informationen für private Haushalte sowie gewerbliche Endverbraucher Hersteller-Informationen gemäß § 18 Abs. 4 ElektroG (Deutschland) Das Elektro- und Elektronikgerätegesetz (ElektroG) enthält eine Vielzahl von Anforderungen an den Umgang mit Elektro- und Elektronikgeräten. Die wichtigsten sind hier zusammengestellt. 1. Bedeutung des Symbols ,,durchgestrichene Mülltonne”
Das auf Elektro- und Elektronikgeräten regelmäßig abgebildete Symbol einer durchgestrichenen Mülltonne weist darauf hin, dass das jeweilige Gerät am Ende seiner Lebensdauer getrennt vom unsortierten Siedlungsabfall zu erfassen ist.
2. Getrennte Erfassung von Altgeräten Elektro- und Elektronikgeräte, die zu Abfall geworden sind, werden als Altgeräte bezeichnet. Besitzer von Altgeräten haben diese einer vom unsortierten Siedlungsabfall getrennten Erfassung zuzuführen. Altgeräte gehören insbesondere nicht in den Hausmüll, sondern in spezielle Sammel- und Rückgabesysteme.
3. Batterien und Akkus sowie Lampen Besitzer von Altgeräten haben Altbatterien und Altakkumulatoren, die nicht vom Altgerät umschlossen sind, sowie Lampen, die zerstörungsfrei aus dem Altgerät entnommen werden können, im Regelfall vor der Abgabe an einer Erfassungsstelle vom Altgerät zu trennen. Dies gilt nicht, soweit Altgeräte einer Vorbereitung zur Wiederverwendung unter Beteiligung eines öffentlich-rechtlichen Entsorgungsträgers zugeführt werden. 4. Möglichkeiten der Rückgabe von Altgeräten Besitzer von Altgeräten aus privaten Haushalten können diese bei den Sammelstellen der öffentlichrechtlichen Entsorgungsträger oder bei den von Herstellern oder Vertreibern im Sinne des ElektroG eingerichteten Rücknahmestellen unentgeltlich abgeben. Rücknahmepflichtig sind Geschäfte mit einer Verkaufsfläche von mindestens 400 m² für Elektro- und Elektronikgeräte sowie diejenigen Lebensmittelgeschäfte mit einer Gesamtverkaufsfläche von mindestens 800 m², die mehrmals pro Jahr oder dauerhaft Elektro- und Elektronikgeräte anbieten und auf dem Markt bereitstellen. Dies gilt auch bei Vertrieb unter Verwendung von Fernkommunikationsmitteln, wenn die Lager- und Versandflächen für Elektro- und Elektronikgeräte mindestens 400 m² betragen oder die gesamten Lager- und Versandflächen mindestens 800 m² betragen. Vertreiber haben die Rücknahme grundsätzlich durch geeignete Rückgabemöglichkeiten in zumutbarer Entfernung zum jeweiligen Endnutzer zu gewährleisten. Die Möglichkeit der unentgeltlichen Rückgabe eines Altgerätes besteht bei rücknahmepflichtigen Vertreibern unter anderem dann, wenn ein neues gleichartiges Gerät, das im Wesentlichen die gleichen Funktionen erfüllt, an einen Endnutzer abgegeben wird. Wenn ein neues Gerät an einen privaten Haushalt ausgeliefert wird, kann das gleichartige Altgerät auch dort zur unentgeltlichen Abholung übergeben werden; dies gilt bei einem Vertrieb unter Verwendung von Fernkommunikationsmitteln für Geräte der Kategorien 1, 2 oder 4 gemäß § 2 Abs. 1 ElektroG, nämlich ,,Wärmeüberträger”, ,,Bildschirmgeräte” oder ,,Großgeräte” (letztere mit mindestens einer äußeren Abmessung über 50 Zentimeter). Zu einer entsprechenden Rückgabe-Absicht werden Endnutzer beim Abschluss eines Kaufvertrages befragt. Außerdem besteht die Möglichkeit der unentgeltlichen Rückgabe bei Sammelstellen der Vertreiber unabhängig vom Kauf eines neuen Gerätes für solche Altgeräte, die in keiner äußeren Abmessung größer als 25 Zentimeter sind, und zwar beschränkt auf drei Altgeräte pro Geräteart.
