T8 EM LED Tube Luminaires
Product Information
The product described in the user manual is a luminaire that can
be rewired for operation with LEDVANCE LED TUBE T8 EM, UNIVERSAL,
or LEDVANCE LED TUBE T5 AC. The rewiring process should be carried
out by a qualified electrician. The luminaire can have a built-in
reflector or a removed reflector.
Tools needed for rewiring include wire cutter, wire stripper,
and different screwdrivers. The new wires used for rewiring must
comply with the latest version of EN 50525 and EN 60598-1
standards. The minimum cross section of the wires should be 0.4
mm², and the isolation should have a nominal thickness of 0.5 mm.
The necessary material for the rewiring process is included in the
conversion kit.
Product Usage Instructions
Rewiring of 1-lamp Luminaires
- Ensure that the rewiring is done by a qualified
electrician. - Identify whether the luminaire has a built-in reflector (above)
or a removed reflector (below). - Prepare the necessary tools: wire cutter, wire stripper, and
different screwdrivers. - Use new wires that comply with EN 50525 and EN 60598-1
standards, with a minimum cross section of 0.4 mm² and isolation
thickness of 0.5 mm. - Follow the circuit diagram provided in the manual to rewire the
luminaire. - Step-by-step rewiring instructions:
- Connect mains line L to the fuse using a WAGO connector.
- Connect the second fuse line to the right lamp holder, ensuring
correct connection of all ECG clamps. - Connect the right lamp holder to the left lamp holder.
- Connect the second line from the left lamp holder to the
neutral wire N, using a WAGO connector if needed. - Remove the ECG.
- Fix all wires with adhesive sockets and cable ties.
- Perform a CE conformity test, then fill in and fix a new
nameplate clearly visible and permanently on the luminaire. - Conduct a final visual inspection of all components and ensure
that all wires are securely fixed inside the WAGO connectors. Check
for any pinching of cables during luminaire mounting. Repair or
replace any defective parts. - If necessary, reconnect the earth conductor (PE).
Note: The user manual also provides wiring examples with typical
ECGs (Electronic Control Gears) from different brands such as
Siemens, OSRAM, Philips, Zumtobel/Tridonic, and BAG. The wiring
steps for these ECGs follow the general work steps mentioned
above.
For luminaire models with traditional CCG (Conventional Control
Gear), fluorescent lamp, and starter, the manual provides a circuit
diagram and instructions on removing wiring from CCG and connecting
it as described. If applicable, the compensation capacitor should
also be removed. A circuit diagram for a rewired luminaire with an
LED tube on AC mains is also provided.

Step 1: Connect mains line “L” to fuse with one wire using a WAGO connector Step 2: Connect second fuse line to right lamp holder. Pay attention to correct connection of all ECG clamps within the following steps. Step 3: Connect right lamp holder to left lamp holder. Step 4: Connect second line from left lamp holder to neutral wire “N”. Use WAGO connector if needed.
Step 5: Remove ECG. Step 6: Fix all wires with adhesive sockets and cable ties.

Step 7: After CE conformity test, fill in and fix new name plate clearly visible and permanently on luminaire while removing or pasting over old name plate. .
Step 8: Conduct final visual inspection of all components and check if all wires have been fixed tightly inside of the WAGO connectors. Cables should not be pinched during the mounting of the luminaire. Defect parts must be repaired or replaced.
If needed, re-connect earth conductor (PE)
