Product Usage Instructions
- Connect the UA5 to your computer using the provided USB
cable. - For Windows 10, Windows XP, Windows 7, or Windows 8, download
and install the UA5UAC 2.0 driver from the website www.shanling.com. For other operating
systems, use the appropriate driver version. - Connect your headphones or audio device to the UA5’s audio
jack. Use the 3.5mm jack for standard headphones and the 4.4mm jack
for compatible high-end headphones. - If using an iOS device, download and install the Eddict Player
app from the App Store. - Launch your preferred audio player software on your computer or
open the Eddict Player app on your iOS device. - Select the UA5 as the audio output device within your audio
player software or app settings. - Enjoy high-quality audio playback through your headphones or
audio device connected to the UA5.

Security Instructions
1. Don’t repair, disassemble or modify the device without permission.
2. Please don’t use this device in extremely hot, cold, dusty or humid circumstances. Avoid any exposure to liquids.
3. It is normal that the device might get warm during charging.
4. Prevent device from falling, friction, or crashing against hard objects during use, otherwise surface scratch, battery disconnection, data loss or other hardware damages will be caused. Please also avoid violent vibration or impact.
5. Please enjoy the music at a proper volume to avoid impairing your hearing and damaging the sound system. Before plugging your headphones into the device, please turn down the volume first.
6. Don’t clean this device with chemicals or detergents, otherwise its surface and top coating may be damaged.
7. The USB port is only for data transmission or charging. Please try to avoid using this device when it is charging.
8. When the device is not in use, please charge it regularly to guarantee battery life.
9. Please replace the battery with one of the same type as the original one, as improper replacement might cause explosion.
10. Never expose battery to sunlight, fire or other extremely hot circumstances.

Operation Instructions
1. For use with devices running Android 7 or higher, Windows 10 or Mac OS, UA5 works as a plug-n-play device, without any need to install additional drivers. For use with Windows 8, 7 or XP, please download dedicated USB drivers from https://en.shanling.com.
Note: Due to differences in Android systems used by different manufacturers, some devices might demand additional settings and some devices might not support such connection.
2. For connecting to certain devices (for example gaming consoles), UA5 must be switched to UAC1.0 mode. To switch to UAC1.0, press and hold down the wheel while connecting UA5 to the device.
3. When powered by USB, power consumption of UA5 is fairly small. Alternatively, UA5 can be switched to battery power, to prevent battery drain from connected smartphone.
4. For use with iOS devices, a special USB-C to Lightning cable is needed.
Wheel Functions
Settings menu:
· Press and hold for 2 seconds to enter the settings menu. · Short press to move to next item in menu. · Rotate to adjust the setting. · Press and hold to exit menu. · Short press to turn on/off screen. · Press wheel twice to lock/unlock volume control.
Factory reset:
· Turn wheel to enter volume screen. While you are in this screen, press and hold wheel for 6 seconds, until screen shows “Setting Recovery”.
Companion APP
Eddict Player app allows access to additional settings and control over UA5. You can download it from Play store or Apple Store.
